WARM GLASS GALLERY
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ARTWORK
TO THE WARM GLASS GALLERY
The Warm Glass Gallery welcomes all submissions of artwork for inclusion in the online gallery. If you're interested in submitting, please follow the following guidelines. Click here to visit the Warm Glass Gallery.
1. The easiest way to send digital photos is by attaching them to an email and sending them to Gallery@WarmGlass.com. Our preferred digital format is jpg, 72 dpi, but we can convert other formats if necessary. Higher dots per inch than 72 will not result in a better looking online photo.
2. If you can't send by email, you can sent photographs (no slides, please) to Warm Glass, 4140 Clemmons Road, #320, Clemmons, NC 27102. Please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope if you would like your photographs returned.
3. If you already have digital photos online in a website or similar location, you can just send an email with the url of the site and indicate which work you would like us to consider.
4. You may submit as many works as you would like (and as often as you like), but most people submit just three or four examples of their work.
5. Photos are judged based on quality of work, quality of photograph, and originality compared to what's already in the Warm Glass Gallery. All of these are important, but quality of photograph is the one where works most often come up short. We have turned down great artwork due to poor photography.
6. Photos are often shared with a panel for judging. We do not accept everything submitted. Generally, no more than a couple of an artist's works are included in the Gallery's main pages.
7. Please send only works that predominantly use kiln-based techniques such as fusing, slumping, and casting. After all, this is a "warm glass" site.
8. Additional information about the work, such as size, techniques used, and title (if titled) is very helpful. Also include any other information you think may be useful, such as photographer credits or your email or website address.
Judging takes up to two or three weeks and it's often another week or so before accepted works are displayed online.
If accepted, your works will be displayed both on one of the Gallery's main pages and on a separate page that contains more information about the work. We will link to a site of your choosing or to your email address if preferred.
If not accepted, please don't get discouraged or consider it a negative comment on your work. Many works are turned down due to poor photography or because they duplicate the kinds of work already on the Gallery. Please try again a bit later with a different selection of work.
All copyrights to the work remain with the artists. The Warm Glass Gallery does not sell artwork, nor do we charge any fees for submitting or displaying your work. The purpose of the Gallery is to strictly to showcase a wide variety of artwork that incorporates fusing, slumping, or other kiln-forming techniques.
Thanks for your submissions and your support for the Warm Glass site.
