The Warm Glass Magnet Exchange began in 2002. 

That year, 120 glass artists agreed to exchange small fused magnets. 

The event was such a success that it has been continued, and is held once a year

Generally, the exchange is announced in fall and the actual exchange takes place early in the following year.
