Is there a way to clean off the accumulated kiln wash on ceramic molds. Every time I slump pieces of kiln wash get embedded on my piece.

Re: SPECTRUM GLASS CLOSING DOWN

It is a sad day for me to see Spectrum go. I just bought all the spectrum I could afford hopefully to get me through my season here in Fl going from Oct to March. I got an email from Uroboros stating that they will produce 96 however, they will not be making any Baroque or smooth glass. Can't imagin...

Re: Kilns

Most of the rust is by the peep hole so I'm thinking it's better to keep that closed and just crack the lid an inch. That's what I'm trying now. New top element is in, pain in the neck to do, some chipping now on top. should I use kiln cement? Kiln still needs to be rewired and I quess we will have ...

Re: Kilns

I use thin fire so I'm keeping the lid open just a little to 1000 degrees should I keep the peep hole open as well or close it? Is this crashing?? How does everyone vent their kiln. I tried doing the kiln wash but doing shows alsmost every week-end and constantly working made thin fire a must for me...

Re: Kilns

I think it rusted out because I was venting through the peep hole. Mike at JenKen told me to crack the top open and vent to 1000 degrees. How are all of you venting.

Kilns

I have a 28 inch JenKen which is now completely rusted out, husband says it needs to be rewired and he hates the quality of it. I fire everyday, kiln is about 12 years old . I replaced the lid two years ago.I burn out elements a lot and my husband replaces them cursing as he does it. My question is ...

Re: turquoise opal 96 question

didn't use any glue on body of cat. I use super glue and used it only on the legs. I emailed spectrum and their first response was glue. Spectrum has asked me to mail them a piece of the glass.

Miss the mountains

Been to Utah once when the kids were little and we did a cross country trip with a motorhome. Truly beautiful place. I'm originally from New York and do miss the mountains and especially miss rocks. Florida has no real rocks just that coral stuff. Before I moved to Fl. I lived in Rockland county. Mo...

Florida selling

Just wanted to give my two cents worth. I'm selling only items under $40.00, mostly wine bottles and my small lady stuff. Haven't sold any large pieces or even mid range pieces. My work ranges from $20.00 to $2200.00. Added the inexpensive fused pieces this year and it has helped since the large pie...
