Question about a mold
I see a drape mold for a mask that I'd like to try. It's a half face mold with the eye sections open. How to you keep it that way (no glass across the eye openings). Being in Mardi Gras country I think I could make some cute masks but being a newbie am confused about this part. Any advice would be a...

Re: Glue for fused work
This was great information. I just read about hair spray yesterday and was going to ask if anyone used it.

So much information
I want to say thank you to all the posters on this forum. I'm fairly new to warm glass art. I did some about 10 years ago with my sister, so all of my knowledge was hands on or from watching. Although I have wanted to do this on my own I was scared to take the plunge. I bought a book which was way a...

Re: mold size?
Thanks for you answers. I was asking how much clearance on sides and from lid if I were for instance going to make a small vase or bowls. I thought a couple of inches would be important. My kiln is side firing by the way. Thanks you so much for answering my question.

mold size?
I have another question. How much room should you leave around a mold? If the interior of my kiln is 11" wide by 9" deep what would be a safe size mold (largest) that I could use? Thank you, Lori

Re: New
I want to thank you all for posting your replies. So many times you will ask a question on a forum and be completely ignored. You all have been so helpful.

Re: New
Thank you both for your replies. Its so confusing when you are about to make a purchase. Between the cost and all the things that you want in the item it makes me nervous. I like this specific kiln because of the chamber depth and hope to do taller pieces as well as jewelry. Barb thanks for your ins...

I'm so glad to have found this group. I'm new to glass although I did some with my sister about 10 years ago and loved it. We mainly did fused jewelry. I am looking at buying my own kiln and have been looking at the Paragon Xpress-1193. It shows doing china painting, low fire ceramics, porcelain and...
