Re: "Dumbing down" of glass art?

Hey y’all. I’ve been gone from WG for years now, but just dropped in to say hey to those folks I’ve grown to know over the years from this board. I’m in contact with several of the original members when this started close to 18 years back. If I’ve missed anyone, friend me on FB. So after working wit...

Re: Minimum temperature needed to get reaction

As some people have found, each result will be a bit different according to the conditions of ones studio practice and kiln. My advise would be to experiment and see what happens in your kiln. I would think that time AND/OR temperature would give you the answers you are looking for.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

It took me many years to figure my drop forming method. Try Karl Herrons 3 piece slumping set. Its much easier and all the rage I hear.

Re: Shipping to France from the US

Delores. Check BAX Global. They always come through for me with international shipping and provide insurance and customs forms and good help. In the US I prefer USPS.

Re: rubber tubing

No Delores...not the dark side. Just turning my otherwise cut off scrap into some interesting baubles that RM is making into "affordable" jewelery pieces. Since she started producing these one of a kind pieces for presents and donations she's been approached by several venues and venders t...

Re: Papyros fiber paper

Several years ago I bought a few rolls of "thin fire" like paper from a company that someone here on the board recommended and had posted the URL for. I can no longer find their link on my computer or by doing a WGBB search. If anyone knows of this company and their site, could you please ...

Chuck Close

Inspiration is for amateurs, so says artist Chuck Close in a video short about what he would say to his younger self. I tend to agree, its all about the work.

Yeah the coldworking is very cool--looks like Jackie inspired you on the bark texture. The texture that looks like pounded metal is esp. interesting--changes the piece completely. I am curious about how its done but I won't ask! Amy Yes Amy, she does inspire me. The bark texture has been done long ...

I'll be posting more images as I finish up the work. It's been a very prolific time, but unfortunatly, my intern goes back to Berlin in 3 weeks and the next one doesnt come till mid summer. So back to the long days of work. :( Waaah!
