20 years ago I left Sudbury Ontario and moved to Oahu. 40 below for 20 years is enough to age anyone. I had 2K in my pocket and worked a bunch of different jobs. My dad had tought me stained glass when I was 14. I purchased a small shop years ago and have never been back. It's different for everyone...

I just got my tubes and elements from Duralite. My interior is 43 x 96 and the 8 elements draw 88 AMP - Single Phase. I worked backwads because of limited studio power. My max available amps with 20% overage came out to 88. So I asked Durilite to calc the max envelope, wall and ceiling thickness. Th...

2 years X # of pendants per day/week/month. = buy a new one It may not be the answer you want to hear but the fact still remains that that unit is paid 10 times over. Having the barings done will cost as much in time as a new saw. FYI - Did you test the blade - I have gotten bent blades new from the...

Quick check-

Set the blade height so that all the diamond area is below the table area.
Unplug the water.
Take a pencil, turn on the saw and slowly touch the blade.

If you are true and the blade is not warped you will get one clean line.
If it is warped - you get a half moon.

Moon Bad - Line Good

Call Paragon and ask for service. You can trade in your old one for a new Melinum version for 200 bucks.

If you ask for a new wire harnes it's another 10 but replaces everything.

Had the same problem and it went away.

Aloha Kitty, The 120 is fast on BE and Mike has tons. If you buy over 200 pounds you can get the price down to $2.00. Your friend may not be using a presure pot - which will make it slow. What are you acid etching after? Is it the blasted area? If so don't bother because the 120 will be super fine.

FYI - All cabinets leak! Wear a mask at all times - not just when you clean up or remove your stuff from the cabinet.

If it came with a dust collector - empty it out doors - not in your studio.

Check out the Diamond Laser 2000 and 5000. No light - great water feed band saws. I've cut 6" slab with it. The blade takes less glass away than a T2.2 because it is thin. 1/6 vs. 1/8. T2.2 will corner better because the blade is round not flat - easier circles. 2000 is THREE times the cost - a...

Thanks Jackie I like the word "chads" - I never did know what to call those things. If you put them at the very edge you run the risk of moving the edge out and distorting it. Lets split the diffferance and say 1/4". Using the soak at 960 on the way up equalizes the kiln shelf and bri...

Secret tip number 1 - How to NOT trap bubbles between sheets. 1. Cut 1/4" strips of clear BE or your fusable. 2. Cut 1/4" squares from your 1/4" stips. 3. Place them all on fiber paper and melt at 1450 for 20 minutes You should have little round dots - you can kill your kiln after the...

Select an oval shape that is close to what you want and cut your glass short. You will end up with a liped bread board shape. - OR

Call a friend who does clay and bring him/her a bottle of Bin 45 just before closing.
