:P Thank you for sharing these pictures with us - it is GREAT to see young people working with glass and learning a little bit about kilnformed glass - I know I always enjoy it at art shows when young people come in my booth and tell me they have worked with glass in school - sometimes they even tea...

If you can only fire Wasser to 1340 degrees must you do a long hold if you cap with BE clear and/or use dichroics on it?? I too ended up with "Yucky results" and haven't used it since. Otherwise 1340 is only a tack fuse so what does one do???? thanks Kim K

I have a Paragon 120 volt - 13 inch round shelf - which can be transported back and forth - but it does weight 40+ pounds - that is one drawback - but is doable. As to using the kiln in your den or anywhere in your condo - if you use fiber paper you will get a horrific smell - and also an odor from ...

Fixing Sagging Elements

My Paragon kiln elements have been sagging and the pins have been falling out - I finally got some replacement pins and now want to replace them - My question is that with heating my element to about 300 degrees I am going to have to wear gloves to insert them - my gloves are so big on my hands I do...

Jewelry Findings Suppliers

:? I am wondering where you can buy Sterling Silver and 14K gold filled neckchains, earring posts, barrettes, wire for wrapping at good prices? R&T doesn't offer enough choice for me so I am looking for another source or 2 or 3.

thanks for the help! Kim K

I like the adventurine green, pale amethyst irid, and the black irids for giving great backgrounds to dichro usage.

Tony - thanks for the link - would you recommend that tent set up for taking pictures of dichroics?

I am having a really hard time getting the colors to show up and I know from seeing other people's work that it can be done.

Any other suggestions gladly welcomed! Kim K

WOW! thanks so much for all the suggestions! I had gone to 2 firings to get away from the bubbles that were bothering me. But I will retry putting the clear cap on and doing only 1 firing. I use mostly (90%) CBS dichro - but have just recently started using the clear. There is so much to learn and I...
