We use the green wax like pencil that pottery supply places sell as a hi fire marker...I think they are three bucks......applied to dry glass it is excellent under the tile saw and grinder. Found nothing faster, better or easier and I looked a lot.

Its effective....been running it for three years no problems...its noisy tho..Next life I am going to have the compressor and vacuum in their owns seperate...

Thanks for the heads up I called and all three stores are closing. I am told that they will remain open until Dec 31. I also was told that Karen will be in on Saturday in Galveston if you want to speak to her. Sad to lose them, one of the first galleries to carry my work. Well Good luck Karen and th...

We do that show from time to time...Yeah what Marty said. I'd add that we always pick up some new accounts and that we write enought at the show to make it worthwhile...but it is slow...You just never know what might happen there...at our last we picked up a new account that has a standing order for...

If the saw is up to spec...its an amazing tool. We use one 3-4 days a week with great result. We use the mk 215 blade...lasts about 6 months.
The only caveat is that we refire all that we cut so minor chipping is not an issue. Also its good to sanblast cut edges before firing.

Hi Brian, Actually I read some of that over at craft web....I have come to terms with my highland machines...modified them to my needs, and if I replace the plates often enough I am having little trouble...the 500 dollars a pop for the plates sucks tho. But I have a buddy who is working on "La ...

Hey Barbara thanks for the kind words. Yup thats my stuff alright, I hooked up with this guy who wanted to Rep my work...We'll have to see how it goes. The "Singularity" series that you saw..is done in a process that I call kinetic casting. Its a bit more involved than what is referred to ...

We cut alot of glass on the tile saw. Fastest and best solution we found is a maker found in pottery supply places. Its designed to not burn off in the kiln. We first used it to mark the kiln floor where kiln posts should sit for different firing configurations. Accidently grabbed it once and marked...

Licha I am glad you got the exposure and looked great but the quote that "Blown Glass Has Had Its Day " I find that disconcerting. Remarks like that surely do not enamour us to blowers, and how will GAS feel as we try to join forces? Whatever achievement or growth that kiln formed glass en...

Spectrum did a run about 2 years ago that matches your description of the yellow glass. The most recent runs have not been that green but the yellow yellow you know

In our studio we are always messing around with the borax vs Superspray devit issue within spectrums line. As pattern bars have undergone similar firings as my work I dare comment. I wish I could say I have a definitive answer...Reds Yellows Blacks seem never to have a devit issue and are never init...
