Magnet address. Thanks, Charlie!

My internet server doesn't cooperate when I go online and my system shuts down every couple of minutes...I have not been able to stay on long enough to find the old posts.

Thanks, Charlie, for the address again! My magnets will be ready to mail soon!

magnet address?

Pardon the location for this post. But, can someone please post the correct address for mailing the magnets? I read some posts which had a question...want to make certain to use the latest.

Thanks!

glass block holes drilling

Hi! I have made lots of the "gifts if light" glass blocks. They are great for hostess gifts, etc. To make the holes, I simply use my wood workshop drill press....very very very slowly, drilling with the glass/tile bits from Lowe's with the block in a bucket of water so the drilling area st...

Skutt HotStart Kiln

Has anyone used the new Skutt HotStart Kiln that is being promoted by Spectrum's System 96 right now? A friend and I are currently fusing in her pottery kiln. I also have an old working Bullseye Fusing Kiln that does not have a pyrometer or automatic control that I hope to try in the future. I have ...

Thanks for your comments regarding butterfly kiln casting

Thanks for your comments. My plan is to fuse it first, then slump onto the "mold." After that, I plan to incorporate it into a stained glass panel. I rescue and raise the eastern black swallowtail butterflies you saw in the model photos (they are the little green caterpillars on your parsl...

Charlie, can you tell me more about casting temperatures? Such as for the full casting you mention, how high? And what temperature (realizing kilns differ) are you recommending?

need comments/suggestions on current project

I posted the following message to the photo forum and am reposting here so that kiln casters may assist me: Altho I have worked in stained glass (cold) since 1990, my fusing experience has been limited. I was intrigued by the BE technical bulletin about using the thick kiln fiber paper for making a ...

fusing project photos - comments welcomed!

Altho I have worked in stained glass (cold) since 1990, my fusing experience has been limited. I was intrigued by the BE technical bulletin about using the thick kiln fiber paper for making a casting mold. Here are 3 photos of my first attempt with such a mold. It has NOT been fired yet so I am hopi...

Lissa, Dolores...I realized after I sent off my thank you message that I recognized the 828 area code as being in the Boone, Linville area, right? I am in that area frequently and will be there again this month. Even if they aren't open, maybe I can check it out.

fusing resources ? for NC

I am new to board...delighted so far. Excited. Recently returned to NC after 13 years away. Within 65 mile of Raleigh/Durham area. Recommendations for glass shops in the area who are current on fusing?
Thanks!

Looking for kiln info for "new" owner of an old fu

Hello, all. I am brand new to this board...and I am very excited to find you. I have worked in cold glass for many years, also clay. Altho I experimented with warm glass sporadically over the past few years, I have recently ventured into glass fusing again and am soaking in information! I even have ...

I agree with Gil about EvenHeat kilns. I use one for clay that has been in use since 1992 and it has been without problems! I have "inherited" a fusing kiln minus a manual and plan to post a new topic message seeking help from this group.
