Orton downdraft system on Evenheat 2451--Help!!!!
Help, I just got my quote for the Evenheat 2451 with the Orton downdraft which is $670 Cdn. I just about had heart failure. Is there a problem with painting on glass without it. The artist I am on the studio tour with wants to do some collaboration and paint on some of the pieces we do. I am...

Nanc, Thanks for getting back to me. I did take out my manual again and did start working through. I am not particularly linear in my thinking. I did find the group and have tried to read through the many posts. Once I come down from the studio tour next Monday I will start working on it earnestly. ...

Glass Eye 2000
I know this is not a warm glass topic but I am looking for help and if you could point me in the correct direction for help I would really appreciate it. I just did the first weekend of my first studio tour with my stained glass and my fusing (which I am relatively new at). It went very well and am ...

Good idea to label them. I have a problem with small wrists so have a harder time making larger ones. The padding as well is good. One bracelet I made that I had cut too short I also put on the small bracelet mandrel with fibre paper to make it larger and it worked. Fits me, but few others. It also ...

One of the things I do is to then put the bracelet back in the kiln and heat it up slowly and with the graphite tongs inside the bracelet make the opening bigger. This normally occurs at around 1100-1200 depending on the thickness of the bracelet. If you make a thicker bracelet you need to make it l...

Yo, My posting probably has made things more confusing. Sorry. The one with the dichro is wasser copper on top, dichro adornment and wasser silver on the bottom. The other one is wasser silver on top and wasser copper on the bottom. Hope that helps. I just did a bowl with the metallic gold and clear...

The paper is thin fire primarily. If you need to build up for a bigger wrist size and not purchase the large size bracelet mandrel she used layers of 1/32. I will have to check my notes again, but the suggested sizes she gave where in the range that most people use. I have had more difficulty gettin...

Thanks for the feedback. This should be it. I really do need help and advice on taking photos so will probably post on the photos discussion after I have some feedback from some people.

Thanks Yo. I created an album and took some photos. I am not very good at taking photos of my work and hate having pictures taken of me. The co-ordinator of our studio tour is getting a bit frustrated with that. I know I have to get over it!!! ok here it is........................ Karen Arcticlassgl...

I started out with a hotbox because I couldn't wait until Glass Visions to buy one and got a good deal here in Canada. I purchased the aim kiln that Jayne Persico uses to to do her bracelets, watches and pulling cane. It is a great size (and you can get it from Warner Crivellaro for $250) which you ...

At skillfest I took Jayne Persico's classes this year which I found to be fantastic. I just finished making two bracelets with silver metallic. One I did with the silver on the top and the copper on the top with a dichro accent. The other I did with the silver on top. On the first one the silver ben...
