Thanks Nelson, That was going to be my next question! Based on my previous research and the different schedules I got here, knew I'd need a good slump schedule. Don't need to reinvent the wheelie every time I do something new to me. Love you sinks, great shape and shine too. Your panels are outstand...

Thanks Cynthia! I was cruising the archives and found the string on Graham Stones' (aka THE MAN) schedules. I've got a lot of good books, but not that one. Anyways, I saw where the discussion went into the "descent through the anneal range" and saw what your schedule was doing. Happy now!!...

Thanks Brock and Cynthia! I was counting on you guys to help out. Love this board! My schedule is from other peoples thinking, plus things I found along the way. Phil Teefy's book "Kiln Forming Glass Fusing" has schedules for glass that are based on thickness and diameter: " 1/2"...

more casting mold questions

This is similar to Pauls question, but the results of my attemp. BTW, what product for making molds makes them reusable? If I hadn't gone so fast in ramping maybe? Anyways, here goes: I made a shallow, open face casting mold using hydroperm. "1 to 1, stir and pour. Sit 30 minutes then remove. F...

Is a hand sander offlimits?(outside and with a mask)
I've got 2 shelves that won't clean well with the razor scraper, but the Makita sander with a bag and using drywall screen instead of sandpaper works da best, using all safety precautions, 'natch 8) Yo

I gotta liitle "Cheetin Gritter Critter" tm I'll sell for $3000. It's avacado colored and some people have mistaken it for a kitchen blender like they saw at the thrift shop, but I say nay, couldn't be. This one, unlike the 2K one DOES make dust and fine frit, "cranks" itself and...

Re: Need secret cheetin' technology for assymetrical slump
In the a few days I'll be doing something I've not tried before --slumping a very thick, assymetrically shaped piece of glass over a very large stainless S-mold. So how did it go? Just curious (mellow). Gotta do one similar, into a mold that I have yet to make of hyd...

pmc has 2 basic types. One has a 10% shrink rate, the other has a 20% rate. I beleive the 20% one (it's called PMC 3, I think) is used mostly for application to fused glass pieces to be fired pretty hot. More info available, great Q&A and chat place at: http://www.pmcguild.com/cgi-bin/teemz/teem...

I've had some luck soaking mold and glass in water for some time, like a day, then carefully pried apart. This has worked with glass that had "overflowed" the mold, kinda like huggung it. ( A BIG wine bottle on a medium mold and it flowed over three sides, if that makes a diff.)

Nice pieces. Glad you adjusted the background, couldn't really tell how nice your art jewelry really is. Great assembly too, not run of the mill. You should do quite nicely. Fab nose/face.

Noel, really!

The Rampmaster 2 holds six programs, I figure I use way more than six firing schedules. You can store a whole lot more in a computer. I checked into the program and it costs $375.00 !!!! I guess programing everytime I fire isn't all that bad. Randy Don't know about anybody else, but what I'm planni...

Does anyone out there use the Kiln Interface Software System ? Do you like it ? Is it easy to use? Are there other interface systems that work with the Rampmaster II? Randy Randy, I'm gonna be checking it out w/ my rampmaster II so it'll run mama bear kiln real soon. I'll get details, they say it's...

Thanks for everybodies input. Barb, I agree it looks like crashing is bad for my health! When I do drop rings like Paul mentions, I'll stick to using my Mama sized Paragon (Does "Mama kiln" make it sound big? ;) ) I would imagine that I'll do most of the jewelry cabs in the baby kiln or ma...
