Re: french cleat

Brock& Ron, Thanks , I was hoping this would work. the pcs I'm working on, are 18" squares ( 1/4 thick) .Which do you think would be stronger E-6000 or silicone ?? I've used E-6000 for smaller pcs that have been hanging for about 6 or 7 years with no problem but am a little nervous with we...

Steve, have you done anything about the flimsy fence on the MK? It's really the weakest part of the saw, and always a problem for me. It seems that one set screw is not enough to hold that long flat aluminum bar in place, and even if it does, after a bit of use, you've actually made holes in the ba...

I agree with all that Phil has posted. I have the 7" HF saw. I got a nice MK blade and it cuts well. But, the mechanism that allows the table to slide sticks and makes using it very awkward. I even attached a zerk fitting and lubed it up with no avail. In frustration, I purchased the MK 100 - ...

If it's working for you, don't change.
Just stay cool as a cucumber and you'll be okay.

I think a good blade can make an inexpensive saw work okay, depends on how much you're going to use it. For big pattern bars, or cutting slabs, I'd go with the best saw you can afford. Brock

In a word, or two, MK-101. A great tile saw, only for straight cuts, trimming, pattern bars, etc.

I don't think there's much you can do, other than appeal to the store owner. A student of mine copied my work years ago. and I went to the gallery with my portfolio, proved that I had been making this work for years, and the gallery owner pulled the student's work. I think that the attitude of the g...

I now have some Wasser flash glass. I have never used flash glass..... seen it used in regular stained glass but not fused. So here are my questions: 1. I want to put a design on the flash glass but Wasser is so thin....can it safely be sandblasted or would it be better to be etched? OR can it be et...

Sounds like a great class, you guys. I want to take one for a change. It'll be yours or one of Bob's. and I'd like to join Lani in her appraisal of your studio. From what we've seen, it is by far the best equipped, best staffed, and best run private teaching studio in North America. Way to go.

Hi Carla,

You may have better results by a longer hold at the lower end of the slumping range. It's hard to say with the small size of the bowls, but maybe try:

400 dph to 1150
100 dph to 1250
9999 dph to 960

Hey Paul, I just talked with the Prez of the BCGAA and I'll be sending you a copy of our bylaws. I don't know how comprehensive they are, but we;ve been around for 15 or 16 years, so they must have helped.

Good luck with it,
