Agreement from this corner, as well! I've worn contacts for 40 years. As long as you're wearing your protective goggles or glasses, you're fine. Remembering to blink is important! :)

I got a Diamond Laser band saw recently that wobbled so much I couldn't use it, had to take it back and exchange it. When I took it apart, I found that the little shaft attached to the top wheel didn't look wonky, but it was.... enough to make the blade wobble. They tested the new one before I took ...

Spray A question

Question: What do you use for a sprayer for BE Spray A? The unit that I got eons ago was in a glass container attached to a can with some kind of propellant in it.... that doesn't work any more. I've tried various misting sprayers from garden shops, and still haven't found one that gives a fine enou...

I use N-Board (ceramic fibre board from Seattle Pottery Supply). It's light, and measures 3'x4' . I cut it to fit the inside of my kiln exactly on top of my 3 shelves. Gave it a nice coat of shelf primer, sanded it smooth, fired to 1200 to get rid of any binders and it is great!

Regards,

Valla

Well there are as many wax recipes and combinations as there are glass casters! Everyone has their own preferences that work for them! I think it depends on the type of work you are producing. I just use pure beeswax mixed with some paraffin and a couple gobs of pure lanolin all heated up together. ...

I use a pressure cooker set on an electric hotplate, with a hose connected to the top of pressure cooker, going to the mold. The mold set-up is as follows: large pot with a square of wire mesh- also called hardware cloth above - (holes in mesh large enough for steamer hose to be directed upward into...

Waaay back in 1992 I was in Ann Robinson's casting class at Pilchuck, where I met Irene Froelich, who was also in the class. Lucky me! I had to comment on this one, because I know her technique and have her casting schedule for plate (float) glass, which she uses almost exclusively. The "white&...
