I guess it's too late now, but what if you cast your glass as a single piece with a stem connecting the leaf and flower, then cast the metal in two pieces which you then join around the stem? All pieces would be cast, and joined by soldering; you'd need to work the soldered seam into the design.

FWIW, if you choose "advanced search" on Google, you can restrict your search to sites in a specific language--perhaps looking only at sites in French would help the enquirer find a book...

most are solid color--opaque, transparent, or opaline, but I have a couple of filigrana rods, too. I guess I wasn't quite as confused as I thought!

Don't use any petroleum products, they'll damage the latex.

I've cast latex in plaster a lot, and plaster in latex a little, and never used mold release at all. They don't want to stick together.

Hmmm, I guess nobody's ever heard of a Cypress kiln. Maybe this isn't as good a deal as it sounds!
