Cabinet draw handles

Hi all, I just returned from a meeting with a client. I am working on about 5 projects with them. One of the projects are cabinet panels for their bathroom. They also want drawer pulls that match. I made the glass and they love it, want it…… like yesterday. My problem is how to attach the glass ...

Take a shape pencil and put the point on the surface of the glass. If the refection of the pencil touches the tip that is the irid side, if there is a space then that is the non-irid side. Do it once then feel the difference sides and you will suddenly see the difference. Thank you Brock.

My work lives and dies on scrap. In my studio there is almost no such word. If I have nothing else to do with it, I grind it into frit using a mortar and pistil (is that the way you spell it??) system. You can get some really interesting frit combinations that way not to mention burning off a few of...

Kelly, Great use of color. It allows the eye to move around and pulls the viewer into the piece. I like the division in the middle with the circle off set, almost cubistic in style. Over all it is a good strong design. There are some things that I find distracting about the piece. First, I can’t r...

I would be concerned that the glass would over flow out of the saucer and break when cooling. You need to be sure that you don’t put too much glass in the pot. You can be a little more accurate by weighing the glass. 1/8â€

Kathie, You mentioned this briefly in your email to me the other day. I know the fear as well as the excitement that you are feeling right now. It sounds like you have received a lot of good advice and you are forming a plan. If you are thinking of Arizona don’t leave out some of the more interest...

How do you finish your glass?

I’m looking for some ideas on how to finish my glass. I usually sandblast one or both sides before slumping and quite often when the bottom side of the slump, (the side touching the mold,) is the sandblasted side, it comes out very dull. I know that Jack Doppler uses Waco wood finishing oil on his...

Doris, That is the firing schedule that I use for my Bullseye glass. Spectrum could be different. One thing though, hold longer at the top, 1650 or so for an hour and then add another soak for 30 minutes at 700 then off. See if that helps. Like everyone else said, slowing down from 920 to 700 couldn...

Thanks Ron, I’ll look around and see what I can find in this area. If not here, then I’m sure to find something in the LA area. This will be an interesting project, I’m sure. I checked out the link. I’m thinking one sheet of glass, real thin, maybe some texture or silk screened images. Hmmmm...
