What Brock said. Then you're certain it will cut the exact size you need.

Re: Painting Class

Well, you certainly found the BEST glass painters I know to study with, Don! I'm sure the class was more than wonderful. Vitrum Studio loves Ken and Kathy.

Re: Fusing small dots and opalescent glass

Jeff, Opal glass tends to stick much more than transparent does to ThinFIre or kiln wash when fired to a full fuse. You'll have much better luck firing the opal squares on a FRESHLY-WASHED kiln shelf. And, in our experiences here at Vitrum Studio, it is important (and well-worth the effort) to scrap...

Re: lettering fused into or onto glass

Eric- On second thought, why don't you just send me an image of some names in the script of your choice (and whatever else will fit on the paper) in strong B/W contrast and I'll print them out on the paper (it's 8.5" x 11") and send you the sheet to use and fire. That way you can have a tr...

Re: lettering fused into or onto glass

Eric, We bought some of th e photo decal paper and were astounded that the TWO old printes at VItrum worked for this process. It would certainly be the easiest, fastest and least expensive way to do it. Send me an email reminder and I can send you the names of the printers that work with the paper w...

Re: Vitrograph setup

You'll get a LOT of cane from one full (or almost full) pot.......but the number of canes is entirely dependent upon the thickness of the cane you are pulling. We just hosted two workshops on VItrigraph Cane and Murinni with Nathan Sandberg, and had 5 vitrigraph kilns firing every day. Each pot each...

Hi Have,
I thini it would be helpful if you could post an image of the turquoise border you are referencing. The word "Turquoise" may not bring up the same mental image to everyone......I'm wondering if you are referrring to the reaction created wsith Dense White and French Vanilla?

yes, but................. For instance, I have an old Norman kiln that I used for traditional glass painting - it was designed for that application....top elements, shallow firing chamber, etc. I'm sure that Norman made a variety of kiln types so you'll need to familarize yourself with what your kil...

Kaiser Lee Board

You can definietly reuse the KLB - but make certain that you use Primo Primer each time you fire. During her workshop at Viturm Studio Petra showed several castings she had made with KLB - and the older molds which had been primed many times with Primo Primer released the glass so smoothly that no g...

Valerie, We use Paragon kilns (over 20 of them!) at Vitrum Studio and have always found Paragon to be extremely responsive to customer needs. Just call them on the 800-876-4328 number and ask for Customer Service. Don't expect an immediate answer from emails - they're not set up for that, as you've ...
