CBS rainbow (I think premium) has one section in it that might be considered "burgundy". Finding the exact section could be tricky though!

I find that the colours to the other end of the scale, (the standard colours, yellow/purple, pink/teal, blue/gold end) work best on top. They have a thinner coating? and let more show from below. Candy apple red, silver etc (premium or specialty colours) tend to work better below.

Really don't do it! We pre-authorized the credit card etc. before sending out an order and found out 3 month later that the card was stolen that day and had not been reported yet! We were out $1500!

I just use a regular cutter and a large morton breaker(Morton Safety Break M80 I think). The morton breaker is a big u shaped piece of tubing attached to a small plastic grid with the morton button on it. I cut the 8x8 in half and then into smaller pieces. Sometimes I use the morton, sometimes just ...

That is the only thing that makes sense, all of the clear is glass from sheets I have used but I cut 8"x8" pieces out to fuse over my dichro. The strips of the edges are what I use in the classes. Non of the 8x8s have ever behaved strange but maybe there was an area of incompatible glass a...

The only clear bullseye glass I have ever had in my studio has been coe 90. I have a very small amount of spectrum 96 but it is the very smooth surfaced glass and all of my bullseye clear is the slightly textured glass. All of the dichroic glass is coe 90. It all has been used in my pieces and all i...

Thanks for the response but that isn't a factor. I would say that it was thermal shock if all of the pieces had been affected or if just the ones in one spot had been cracked but they were evenly spaced throughout the kiln on two shelves both 20" square. They broke like a high temp melt that ju...

Hi Bob, it was the big kiln, however, I have used that kiln many times this summer (probably 15 firings) for my production work and nothing. Not all the pieces had divit only the pieces that cracked. The cracked pieces were not just crazed, they were more of a shattered crack. Some just the clear, y...

What went wrong?

Hi, I taught a class this weekend and I have no clue as to what went wrong. I have been making dichroic glass jewelry for over 6 years (I have 80 + wholesale accounts) and have never had this happen before. I have also taught this class, using this kiln, about 3 times and using a different kiln twic...

Hi, we use dichro cabs in both types of "navel" piercing jewelry, bar (bananna) bells and the hoop type. We use very small cabs and have a body piercing store make them for us. They use very small stainless steel ball bearings and some how hollow them out and put the glass in. The ones for...

I have made small molds (for lamp repairs) out of clay. Roll it flat (I use spacers on the counter to get a uniform thickness), shape it over a shape you like that is covered with saran wrap and cover lightly so it can dry slowly. You can sand it at this point to smooth it out if necessary. Drill yo...

Have you tried http://www.artclayworld.com? They have a store and you can purchase all their products on line.

I still like ACS more than PMC for glass because it still shrinks less than their PMC (3 or + I can't remember which is the equivalent). Personal preference only.
