Re: sand blaster

Kinda off topic but still sandblasting related... I tried the new papyros paper, and it left an odd pattern on my glass. I sanded it some, flipped and fire polished it. Still there. Decided to sandblast it to get it off, then blasted the front side to remove paper "texture". Can I get both...

Re: casting into a carved fire brick?

Thanks for the remarks, guys... Cynthia, good information... its just a couple of seashells and a starfish. No undercuts, lack of fine detail doesn't matter, as they will look tumbled!!! I kind of figured I'd rub kiln wash onto the holes to fill. I'll give it a shot!! Any special schedule to do this...

casting into a carved fire brick?

I have heard or read that you can carve a fire brick and cast into it. I carved some sea shells into the brick so when cast, it would be like a relief. Do I just fill with frit, or chunks, or do I have to make a paste?? What do you need to do for prep?? What type of schedule would I use? I assume it...

I wanted to do some larger panels... also saw some ss rolls, those, I assume could be manipulated to m...

Re: Pot Melting

I found a large ss wire strainer at bed bath n beyond, and was wondering if it would be suitable for a mesh pot melt. I have done them in pots, but wanted to try the mesh. Where do you find mesh that is suitable, if this won't be? Will it work to lay down thin fire, a layer of clear glass in the dam...
