We use fiber shelves, mostly, with a couple of instances where a smoother surface is needed, and the shelf is mullite or RS100. Only thing I have to adjust is the firing time. Glass on fiber fires hotter than on ceramic, so firing time/temp is less. So we always have different firing schedules for e...

Re: Pigment of my imagination?
i'm always curious why there isn't a good magenta or fuschia in the color lines of any of the fusible, and why the most intriguing ring mottles don't handle fusing well - no i've not tried them but i've been told they don't like going to full fuse but i would love to fuse a layer of ring mottles to ...

Sales&Use Audit Results--good info
I was just audited by the NC Dept of Revenue for compliance with the state sales & use tax collection/reporting for the last 3 years. Interesting results that I think I should share. Things learned: >as of 2 years ago, sales tax is applicable for shipping charges within NC. (yes, shipping is tax...

When the Baroque came out initially, it was REALLY erratic (it bar-oke all over the place). Spectrum told me that the reason for the problem is that they mix glasses that don't really like each other to create the swirl. This is, of course, the good news and the bad news. There is already tension in...
