Never have posted any photos to this site- I am unsure how that works. If you have Brenda Griffith's new book you can see them in there.

Re: Screen Melt
Going back to the original question of whether or not the wire will cause cracking due to incompatability. I was making these pretty regularly in 2010 and 2011. I have all of them still intact. At that time I showed one to Boyce Lundstrum. He correctly guessed that I had used galvenized hardware clo...

I would check with the copany that made the kiln. They would also be able to give you directions for cleaning or replacement.

Re: Need some kiln recommendations...
I would second Valerie's opinion about the kit that Bullseye sells. Its a perfect starter kiln in a good size and the starter tools that come with it would get you up and running right away.
No electrical wiring costs is also a plus when you are starting out.

Re: spiky and slightly cloudy ... Help
Hi Saskers I don't work with system 96, but I believe some of the same conditions apply. I never use alcohol by itself to clean the glass, it sometimes leaves an oily residue that might be causing your cloudyness. I found that a mixture of white vinegar, alcohol and water gave me the best resultsfor...

Re: Why is this cracking?
Ok . My 2 cents. The white resists movement because it is so stiff. The black is very likely to move quickly. If the clear sheet tack fused to the underneath layer, you have one sheet of clear that is being pulled in 2 directions. I think the crack was caused by the viscosity differences between the ...

Hi Brad. Im surprised to hear you had no trouble with the slide 1800. How high did you fire it? I broke several expensive color de verge molds by trying it instead of mr-97. Just curious

Re: Frit/powder Question
Hi Jen, I have another suggestion. Here in the US the craft supply stores sell a glass paint , both opague and transparent, that heat sets at very low temps. I have successfully used a hairdryer to provide the necessary temp to make the paint permanent. ( One of the times it was done on the front of...

Re: MELT FUSED INTO CRACKLED PIECE
Hi Havi, What color was the crackle? I work with Bullseye glass and my experience is that the white is so much stiffer than the dark colors that it has caused cracks like the one you describe. The 0013 is especially hard and refuses to move causing cracks when put with a softer glass. The 0113 is a ...
