yup, glass strips ,kind of like a flat marty piece. What size screen to use? Ya know what was weird, the top, under the heat, the French white strips seemed to bleed out , not stay concise like the back side( maybe now my front!) I thought white was the hardest! Could it be the french thinks of itsel...

sand
Can you use beach sand to blast.? I found someone to bring over their equipment( I have the compressor) and he has "slag" and sand. I want to blast off fiberpaper stuck to the bottom of a 15x15x1/2 end tabletop.

Come on, now you expect me to know what i'm talking about!!! Greg, I replaced evil kiln shelves with this material called fiberboard that you can cut to make your own mold froms or kiln shelf(that reats on bottom of kiln) I also did not like having two shelves, and the seam, in my kiln, finding it l...

fiberboard shelflife?
I love having no seam in My JenKen oval 9 but the fiberboard is stymying me. I originally used hardener on it before my first firing but when I went to sand it , it scratched and marred like crazy. To smooth it out I resorted to kiln wash (Just what I was trying to get away from!!!) Now, obvio...

thanks again. I did get hooked to a belt sander wheni took classes at Urban(froze my ------ off) and Corning. Sooo versatile and as was said, can hog the stuff off you need. I don't do too large, but will be working on table inserts hopefully this winter. I'm a pipsqueak myself, so I'll make what I ...

crl 64 sander/ what belts for starting up
Hi everyone and thanks for your help before. I am thinking of getting the smaller sander then the 106 because of floor space and this way I can mount it on same table with me saw. The price they quote is 1240. Good/bad. Please don't even recommend I build or refurbish one myself. My days are too sho...

Covington vs. Somaca
Ok guys, I may attempt to build my own kiln one day, but putting together a sander I find a wee bit daunting. Especially after the shock discussion. some find my life shocking enough! (Yes I really do live year round on an island with no fast food or malls. Going off island to a CVS is exciting; ahh...

kaiser-lee shelf, love and problem
I have a jen Ken Oval 9 and the seam drove me nuts, aside from having an evil shelf. I cut a piece of board to fit the whole bottom and it's great to have. I have a down side though and maybe it is the way I am treating it, don't know. Even after I rigidized it, it has been very tender, to say the l...
