Sorry, My fault. Yes you did say 27P. There is a 23P on Ebay for about $150 now. My understanding of the thumb control is for you to control the percent of power that they kiln will be using. ie 20% or 50% or 80%. This is a way that you can slow up the firing process,.. ie changing from 9999 to say ...

Liam, I have repaired this kiln. It does not have a pryometer. I have no idea what the difference between the 23 and the 23P. When cress sent me the wiring diagram it was the same. It has a kiln setter, a time limit and also an interesting knob that controlls the percent of power that it uses.. ie 2...

By all means do not use an extention cord.. have the electrician run a line from your dryer to where you want it to go and have the correct outlet that you want.. promise that you will only use one at a time.. and if you forgot and used both then you would blow the circuit.. that is why they make br...

since these are sample tiles something else to do is to write down the color with that paint. ie if lemon is on the brush, then write lemon..

one of my original kilns was the GF8 with a seperate 12 key controller. Boy, what that an upgrade from the ceramic kiln and the pryometer. When I got a larger kiln I made sure that there would be room for me to keep the GF8. I love it.. Great size for a medium size shelf. The way they do the new top...

You said that you do not want a pryometer.. does that mean you want a computer controler.. ie a 3 key controller?

Alecia, I don't understand " that wraps several times and the glass dangles from one of the hoops". I assume the you are not talking about the french hook ear wires. Are you talking about wrapping like that one the wire tightly on top of the loop? I am assuming that you mean that the wire ...

There are plenty of people that still do fusing in a ceramic kiln and some even on multiple shelves.. Takes a lot of experminting to know the temps at each leave.

So, yes it can be done. You will need a ceramic kiln since it gets hotter than a glass one.

Today's project .. or exercise

Step one.... Remove all shelves and furniture from the kiln Step two .... Vacuum out the bottom of the kiln.. and around the elements Step three... and this is bold.... put kiln wash on the floor of the kiln, incase glass ever drops down there. Boy that was easy... how come we did not do this sooner...

Another way to bypass the bubbles from the new thin fire

Bullseye has these kiln shelves that are made of Cordite and mullite. We have been using them without kiln wash on with thin sheets of BE that has been decorated and have not been getting the bubbles.. we do get a few more of the thin sharpies. The shelves are the size for a GL24 but they can be saw...

Paragon has changed the way they make the tops for that kiln. The top has grooves in it for the top elements.. no more pins in the ceiling.
Make sure if you get it from a supplier that you get a new one, not one that they have had sitting around and has the pins in the top.

I have used back magic and have never had any luck with it.. read old posts.. Recently I was told it did work for someone when the piece was very smooth... but the problem is the smooth side was the side that was up, not the back side.
