Absolutely fantastic! That's my kinda stuff. I love the precision and geometry. The colors too. Music for the eyes of a Math teacher.
Thanks for puuting them on the site for all of us to enjoy and take inspiration from.

Jackie, Thank you for the supreme compliment...that my piece was good enough to be remembered by someone as accomplished as you. As you recalled, I had set out to copy a Cynthia Oliver Mosaik and failed. Her work is relaxed and free flowing and my attempt became rigid and precise because that is me....

Re: Conferences
if it's just a matter of holding a conference, there are many places in the country that specialize in holding conferences. orlando, san diego, chicago, phoenix (in the springtime), san francisco, las vegas, come immediately to mind. these places are set up to hold conferences and it's usually very...

Thanks everyone. This has been a wonderful thread. I don't wander over into the business/money forum but I'm glad I did this time. I am a Hobbyist and all this talk about money, markets, pricing, perceived value, showmanship, etc. reinforces me. I am sooooo glad I am a hobbyist. I am privileged to m...

I have two loc-line setups on my little post grinders and love them. I first saw them in some slides that Roger Thomas showed of his studio. They work very well at putting the water right at the point you want it. The primary advantage is the flexible hose that will stay in the position you put it. ...

Sprocket
Charlie, I need a heavy sprocket (#40, #50 or #60 chain) like the one Ron used to attach his shaft to the steel plate. I bought one on eBay that would have been perfect except the idiot seller mismeasured the bore. Apparently he couldn't tell 1 1/2" from 1 7/8". Here's a picture of it. Jim...

Charlie, me too. Klyrfire is a great medium for mica and I like spraying with alcohol because it dries so fast. I'm too impatient for water based mediums. Will the klyrfire work with Ferro? Cathy, I can't really advise you regarding fire hazard. I sprayed lacquer based model paints for years in the ...

Cathy, Ask Bert about the flux. I believe he uses it or some other flux to fire his paints once before he encloses them in a fused piece. I use denatured alcohol to spray to thin and airbrush. I get it by the gallon at Home Depot. However, I have stopped using it for my final cleaning before I fuse....

My favorite of all the new pieces is the pink PB platter by Brock. Brock, what color (BE # ?) is the pink? It is amazingly bright. It reminds me of that day-glo pink that we used back in the late fifties. I also like the uniformity and crispness of the PBs, especially the yellow dots on the ends. I ...

Dick, I use the Silberschnitt. It is well constructed and not overly expensive. There are two things I don't like about it that may or may not be avoidable or important to you. One, the suction cup will not stick if the glass is too textured or wavey. BE single rolled...forget it. Two, it comes with...
