A couple of folks told you you need to keep the rod in place for fire polishing. I always fire polish without anything in the channel. I fire polish at 1300 F and my channels stay open. Try it. It will save some time.
Me, too. I fire polish without anything to keep ...

Some of the folks that I talk to are still recommending the Gryphon Omni. They say it's less maintenance and less expensive in the long run.

I have a National 8M. It's a very good torch with interchangeable tips for working all sorts of glass. This, I believe, is an advantage that it has over the Minor. I've heard people say that you can't make marbles on a hot head. However, I know that were I to say that, someone would immediately post...

The injet transfer paper is an excellent idea! I have a bunch sitting around collecting dust, as it doesn't make very good t-shirts. Since I won't be washing my fiber paper, however, this is an excellent application!

Hotline Stringers??

Greetings from the Pacific Northwest. I have a tube of Hotline stringers that my husband's aunt gave me along with some other scrap glass. The label says Hotline Stringers Cat No 4955 18" Creative Craftsmen Co., Naperville, IL 60563 No COE though. I've searched for hotline stringer and Creative...

What color light are you looking at? Is the light full sun spectrum? You're just bending some light that bullseye can't predict for you. I'm not surprised. I'm not even going to pull out my sample set and check your colors out (until later today). So is this mouse book any good? I think we're getti...
Thanks for clarifying - that could be very helpful down the road, the contraction rate information. Ron, I am thinking on the same wavelength with you. The glass should not go over the outer edges of the clay, only on top and in the cut out. I think for fun I will try it b...

Hi, Karen, I'm no expert, but I often fuse and slump the same piece in one step - especially when I'm working with float glass. It's a matter of knowing your kiln and lots and lots o' trial and error. If you don't want to go through as much trial n' error, fuse first, then slump. Still, you'll find ...

My recommendation would be to schedule an appointment with your financial advisor. Don't have one, you say? This might be a good time to find one. She could look over your current financial situation, your investments, etc. and help you figure out a plan to get where you want to be. Knowing where yo...

I use a schedule similar to the one you posted, but I anneal at 1050. This sched gives me few, if any bubbles. I've tried going faster from 1100 to fusing, but it only gave me more bubbles.
