CC Processors/Merchant accounts

I've used several over the years .... Key Bank - no problems with them. Only left to use Wells Fargo since it is integrated with Quickbooks. Now use: iPayments (for online processing) - no problems. Wells Fargo (for processing thru my accounting package - no problems. I didn't really have much of a ...

Directions

I did the Directions show last August in Bar Harbor and it was great. You have to be a member; I'm not but they invited me as they had a bit of extra space due to a date change. They only take new applications once a year and I didn't make the deadline again this year but I would recommend this grou...

Unresponsive sponsors - To Stacey

Stacey: In my first reply (above) to this thread I wrote: "To Stacey - I am sorry that you found me unresponsive as that was never my intent. Please feel free to call me at 207-223-0070 to discuss any open issues you may have. I would be more than happy to help resolve whatever they may be. I h...

I don't keep the rod in for grinding or fire polishing. Here's what I have done for years: Remove the rod Grind to shape desired Clean the hole with bead reamer and water Dry Fire polish - you have to work your schedule so that you do not close the hole. It all depends on the size of the channel and...

dichro color

that's a tough one..... the closest color I can think of in art glass would be cranberry or deep plum (1311 or 1105) but for dichro it's difficult. Perhaps black cherry on clear on one of the art glasses above? There really is no dichro that color but if you play with a combo of art glass and dichro...

I am very surprised by Stacey's comment since I spent quite awhile on the phone with her last week looking up in my distributor catalogs to see if I could find a soap dish mold she was looking for. Even though we don't carry this item normally I told her I would research it and see if I could find o...

That's a good idea... I've also been thinking about making the cab, drilling a hole, placing the CZ in and then capping with clear and refiring... I think that would work pretty well but is a bit of extra work...

"The clarity of the glass is a function of temp and particle size. Increase in either gives a more clear result. " Does this mean that if I increase the final fuse temp, perhaps slow down the fusing to let air escape and use a slightly larger frit (maybe 2 instead of powder) that I can get...

At shows folks are always coming in asking to see the glass orchids... so I figured I'd better try and make some... they get so confused when I say I don't have any...... I think I'll go with pate de chunk (as someone said here a while ago) and keep my beloved transparency! lolo ~N http://www.GlassO...

Sorry, I should have clarified that; I used transparent glass, not opaque. When I kiln cast I usually use cullet in transparent colors. I really like transparent glass; I don't mind some air bubbles, I kind of like the element of chance they provide as long as they aren't on the surface... but so ma...

Interesting. I can't believe frit size 2 gives the clarity they have in their pieces ..... I would think they would be much more opaque with #2.. I'll have to try one with that size and compare the transparency....

Don't get me wrong; I love their pieces... just wondering...

Yep, it's all the way in there. I built a little 'hole' in the pieces of dichro I stacked up to support it in place. A few other ones still tilted as the glass melted but this one stayed right where it belonged. I've got a few other ideas about how to make it work everytime but need more play time.....

My first solo pate de verre piece

Just a little proof of concept piece .... a Glass Orchid...... don't like the opaqueness or color selections but hey... http://www.glassorchids.com/images/PMC/patedeorchid.jpg You can't see the depth of the flower as I just laid it on the scanner but the petals have about 1/2" of depth and over...

When is it Pate de verre?

I've taken a class on Pate de Verre and have been thinking about it for several years. Finally I found some play time and made a small piece (nothing great just proof of concept.. but pic is on photo board). I don't really like the opaqueness of it as I prefer transparent glass. I do some other kiln...

New Dichroic Piece - experiment

Here's a piece I made recently in which I embedded a cubic zirconia and some fine silver balls... this was sort of fun. Getting the CZ to stay and not fall over was tricky and I made a few that didn't come out with the CZ standing up so well but hey.... These are the stones I have to embed in PMC so...

Thanks both! How exciting...... That's exactly what I was looking for. This is the thing that makes me love working with glass.... there is always more to explore and learn... now the downside is that there are always more toys to buy.......
