Re: Transparant glue for Berrets.

I have also used E6000 with good success. You will want to look at expiration date....most places have "old" E6000. Date is on the crimped end.

Re: is spray A dangerous?

There is a comment by Ed above about using boron as a dip for pieces with light devit. Can someone talk more about that and also where do you get boron?
Thanks for any info.

Trying to find relay for kiln

I am looking for relays for my Bartlett RTC 1000 controller, series 700. Looking through the manual and online, I am not finding what I need to purchase. Any suggestions? Best place to buy. Not sure what I am looking for. I am in Oregon.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your help. I have emailed Covington and not heard back from them.
Hoping I can at least get the belt sander up and running.

Covington Wet belt sander?

A friend of mine had been given several glass power tools from someone else and she wanted them out of her shop so I purchased very inexpensively. One of the things that I ended up with is, I believe, a Covington wet belt sander. Am not finding the equivalent online so assume it is a bit older. It n...

Re: Need help with Creative Ceramics medium rectangle mold

Just the subject I planned to post on. I used a schedule of 200 1225 :20 AFAP 925 1:30 100 700 :01 Is there anyway to fix the bump in the middle. Not sure if I haven't had success in the past with this issue as I usually think I didn't hold it long enough. I am using an 8637 BE 12" Sushi mold. ...

Re: Any idea what went wrong?

I used MR 97 and I believe it was dry, but can see the possibility that might be the cause. The back on the piece was flat and didn't seem like the times I have had bubbles in the past.. It was very odd and there was a depresssion on the left upper spot. I ended up adding another layer, covering it ...

Re: Any idea what went wrong?

Thanks, Havi.
Appreciate the response. Not sure if these were bubbles. It was like some of the fine frit went around larger pieces of frit and left a blank area. The surface was fairly flat.
However, I will try adjusting my schedule.
More experimentation. :)

Re: Any idea what went wrong?

I did not, although I did have MR-97 on the mold. Took a class from someone who does these all the time and is highly successful...we did not use it in the class.

Re: Any idea what went wrong?

The only solid piece of glass I had in there was the very back cut to fit in the mold and the bubbles, or whatever they are, don't appear to go through the layers. Most of it was frit except the trees, which were pretty skinny and pre-fused. Yes it was in the mold. I also had some stringer I pulled ...

Any idea what went wrong?

Birch Trees.jpg Hi and thanks to all of you who share your great knowledge. I am trying to figure out what I may have done wrong on this piece. This was mainly done with frit. I did this in a Patty Gray 8 x 10 mold. I thought it was going to be fine, however when I took it out of the kiln noticed t...

Re: Circle cutting question

I agree with Valerie. It takes a little instruction and some practice. When I first started fusing, I had a terrible time figuring out how to cut out circles-fear being a huge part of it. The people at Bullseye showed me about using the grozing pliers to gently pull out and down a little bit to star...

Re: First attempt

Last minute substitute in the class so didn't bring a picture....worked from one that Ann had--hardest part was picking a picture. Didn't end up looking too much like the picture, but close enough.

First attempt

I took a class by Ann Cavanaugh this past weekend on Beginning Fused Glass Landscapes. Great class and very patient instructor. :)
This is the result. Pretty pleased with this attempt and looking forward to seeing if I can duplicate the process working on another landscape.
