Stainless mold shallow enough to slump INTO?

I have a 17" round stainless steel mold that is 2 1/2" deep. Is this shallow enough to slump INTO without having issues from different rates of contraction?

Can I slump directly on a kiln shelf without a mold?

The blue is standard 3mm which is the one I most want to find but I suppose it could be dichro on black. Anybody recognize it??? Please, please, please. It has taken...

Re: Satin Dichro

Head on over to AAE Glass (Tanya Roy Veit) and check out her Saturday video. She has a great idea for getting a matte surface on dichro. http://aaeglass.com/index.php/supplies/saturday-video-club.html?limit=all The video is only viewable for 72 hours after she puts it up, so you'll need to act quic...

Satin Dichro

I am trying to give my dichroic pendants a satin finish. Someone suggested using a clear enamel on them since it would fire to a hazy color. I have not used any clear enamels and wondered if this would work or if someone has another suggestion. I know Reusche has a satin etch enamel. Has anyone used...
