Re: cremains pieces

Your question has gone unanswered for some time by anyone who might know the answer, so I'll make a suggestion. I have no experience in the field you are talking about but simply wonder if you can make a piece of jewellery for yourself in the style of the pieces you would like to market and use that...

Actually, cats have staff, not servants, though it's hard to tell the difference when one is head down into a litter box. :?

Re: Removing sticker 'ghost marks'

I do know that if refired the ghosts disappear . Sorry I don't have the magic answer. Calcium carbonate didn't work, or I didn't rub it for the requisite number of months.....and I can't find the buffing wheel for the cerium oxide treatment. I'd like to try firing the 'ghosts' off. Don, or anyone w...

Re: Where is the iridescent 96?

Apropros of nothing so far said.....years ago Merry-go-round glass made a beautiful white irid. It had a subtle finish, not garish, just a soft pearl-like finish. They are no longer in production.

Re: Removing sticker 'ghost marks'

Thanks so much to everyone who replied. After posting my original question and having already tried a WGB search with no success I posed the question to Google and this 2014 thread, from WGB, came up, with some similar replies: http://www.warmglass.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=41130&p=3507...

Removing sticker 'ghost marks'

I've tried everything short of sandblasting and fire-polishing but have not been able to completely remove marks left behind by the 'System 96' label and some little circular, colour-coded stickers I applied to the glass for quick identification of off-cuts. (I have 90 & 96 and don't want to mak...

Re: The Latest Bowl

When I saw the post 'The Latest Bowl' my immediate reaction was as Havi has described. I so look forward to seeing your inspiring pieces and I'm saddened to hear you were a victim of those terrible California fires. We saw much coverage on the TV and just recently had very destructive widespread fir...

Brad, I've never been able to figure out where the User Groups link is to register for the Warm Tips email notifications. Can you clarify this please? The instructions are still on the Warm Tips intro page but I can never do this. Thank you. Jen

Re: TaoFiber - Fiber Paper

Sharol, sorry the eBay link is no more. In this thread Kevin makes reference to making one's own paper:

I'm looking forward to seeing a link or reading more about this.

Thanks for your review, too.

Kevin do you have the 'method' or a link, please. I've never used paper but wouldn't mind trying it for fiddly bits that tend to get lost in alumina hydrate.

Thanks Brad and Marty. I know of Craftweb, Just haven't heard it referred to as 'Pete's board'. As you say, mostly blowing, so I don't browse it and certainly am not qualified to contribute.

Greg, just a thought. Could you not simply order the glass as you want it, without having to reprocess it? I've done that for years. Jen

Re: Slumping Tempered Glass

If you really want a thrill try carving tempered glass. Once I was supplied with glass that was not supposed to be tempered but was. It didn't have any logos to indicate it had been tempered so I spent hours laying out very intricate artwork then took it into the booth and started carving. It went o...
