froggee501, Very nice piece. I like your color choice! I'm not sure, but I would try to skip the bottom layer of white. Did I read that correctly, you have a layer of white under there? Try skipping that and have your pattern on the bottom, then cap with clear. Heat slowly to squeeze the bubbles out...

I'm curious, what does Renato think of the site/service? How does it compare to the GUILD.com?

Mimi's was a VERY painful story to read, but I'm glad she shared. Hopefully that will help avert the same tragedy from happening to some one else. I do have a story of my own, not nearly as dramatic, but at the time it was. I had just bought several sheets from my local supplier and brought them hom...

StaceyG, I had the same problem with Future Forms and Molds just last week. They have a HUGE banner on their site now, some thing about computer problems and they "lost" a lot of their internet orders. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, PLEASE CALL IN YOUR ORDERS, 1-888-800-3901 WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE W...

Crafting as a Business, by Rosen, was recommended to me. There are many that disagree with this approach to business. I argue constantly with the profs teaching Business Administration about the difference between what works in textbooks and what works in the real world. I totally agree. That always...

I have a small brick topped kiln (about 3" thick lid) that a clip board with years of firing schedules was left on once. Came in the next day and all that was left was the metal clip and some black ash. THAT sent chills down my spine... I got the full mental image of the ask on top of the kiln...

I once put a tube of blistex lip stuff through the washer and dryer. All the lip stuff went into the lid. I keep that one inch, perhaps two inches, away from my kiln. It's been there for three years. I have YET to see it melt the blistex out of the cap. It makes my husband feel comfortable that I'm ...

The cool little rubber thingies are little rubber washers (??) Gosh, I really don't know how to explain them. The stairs have some give to them, from the steel welds, since they are cantelivered, then with the rubber washer, but it's acutally thicker than a washer... gives the step more give and mak...

I'd call the folks at SKUTT. I've heard they are VERY friendly. I can't imagine that you would NOT be able to put an automatic controller on there, but it may cost a few bucks. SKUTT does make very, very nice controllers, I LOVE mine!

I have also seen 1/2 tempered used as stair treads in commercial applications. I actually have glass treads in my home. I didn't do them myself, as I wasn't brave enough for that large scale of a project. They are 3/4 inch float, slumped over some thing (??) to give them a groovy wavy texture, also...

When I'm cutting a circle in an opal glass, I'll score using my circle cutter, flip the sheet over, and apply pressure to the areas where I scored. With luck and practice, and the RIGHT amount of pressure, I will then see the back side of my score. It's getting that scored circle to show on the back...

If you are going to use a welders eye protection, get the AMBER face shield, not the green. That way you will be able to see more color.

What about a dictionary about the different TYPES of glass:

Float glass
Pyrex
soft glass/hard glass

I do see a lot of similar explanation in the tutorial, but if we were to do a complete dictionary, I would include the explanations there as well.
