Silbertschnitt vs Fletcher-Terry circle cutter - experiences?

I want to buy a circle cutter. I've never used one but it seems the Silbertschnitt (6 wheel) & Fletcher-Terry(3wheel) are good ones. I read a carbide head is available for the Fletcher is that true of the Silbertschnitt also.
Thank you,
Chris

Re: Papyros, Kiln Liner and Bullseye Thinfire papers

I have used thin fire (old & new) and switched to Papyros. I don't have a shrinkage or split problem, do have very nice backs. I use BE glass.

Re: Borax and firepolish after haze/devit?

Stephen>> Some of the pieces were composed of black and deep royal blue. One piece all 1114 blue. A third piece was 1114 and 4223 on this one only the 1114 had the hazy splotches. I clean carefully and keep my fingers off. I hope this makes more sense

Re: Borax and firepolish after haze/devit?

I meant to say the haze on the black glass gives the black the appearance that it has a light coating of bronze on the top.

Borax and firepolish after haze/devit?

This is the first time I have ever had haze/devit (re my post on haze & fire schedule). BE 1114 has a goodly amount the black haze almost makes it looks like it has bronze hue.

Will making up the borax mix or buying the superspray and firepolishing take care of the devit?

Re: haze (devit?) schedules clarified

Marty - I am firing on mullite shelf that is washed with HotFire and I used Papyros (which I have been using successfully in my smaller kilns. I meant for my schedule to be 2 columns but they merged so here are the schedules I used for the first and second firing. The devit is mainly on the BE Blue ...

Re: haze (devit?) on glass what is wrong with schedule

Drat it is late and I hit the wrong key before I finished typing. In reading the board I also noticed several people anneal by going Full to 960, the 100 to 800 and last 200 to 700. Why the last two steps instead of one. First fireing 2nd firing Ramp / dph/ hold 300 - 500 - 2 300 - 500 - 2 500 - 115...

haze (devit?) on glass what is wrong with schedule

I've used two schedules (the second one I slowed down on) but still having hazing problems - actually the second schedule gave me more haze on all my Bullseye transparent deep royal #1114.
First schedule 2nd fireing
300 - 500dph -2min

Re: Jen-Ken Kilns

I just (a few days ago) got my 5th Jen Ken. I have 2 brick(AF3p, one with bead door) and 2 fiber (Bonnie Glo) and now the Oval 13.

JenKen is a great company - the support is terrific and the kiln quality is excellent.

BE vs Hotline Hifire ?

What is the difference in the back of the glass fired on hotline hi fire vs Bullseye vs Papyros? I have been using papyros( switched from TF becuase easier to clean up) in my small kiln and Primo Primer (it gives a very smooth back) on my molds. I want to omit the papyros if I can get a smooth back....

Fuse Master Wave form slumping mold - more holes?

I recently purchased the infinity series (texture plate and wave form slumping mold) from fuse master. There is only one hole at the bottom of the bowl form. Does it need more holes? Has anyone used this/drilled holes. Any tips?
