Re: Compressor question
Rick, i really appreciate your advice - I had no idea i could buy an Air compressor for Sandblasting for 300.00 is there one you recommend? 120 would be nice, however I have a 220 for my kiln and would never have them on at the same time. What would the minimum compressor be for 3 hours of sandblast...

Re: Compressor question
Wish I had read read this before I cut the line. In the uploader valve there was a locking copper fitting that tightened around the black line. I'm so frustrated as now when it turns on both valves are reading the same value and I let it run up to 75psi, then let air out to 40 psi( both are at 40) a...

Re: Compressor question
Rick, I can't thank you enough for all your help. It turns on fine now (like before) but was afraid to test it too much with that port open and that line hanging. If I cut it off the back bottom (its not under ine tank) should I get some sort of fitting to keep it closed? If I could get that plastic...

Re: Compressor question
The thing with the arrow is called the "unloader valve" what it does is release any pressure in the line from the actual compressor to the tank once the motor has shut off. If the line is pressurized when it's time to restart the pressure makes it very difficult to get the motor going aga...

Re: Compressor question
What's the longest hose that's feasible? Could I stick my Compressor 1200 feet away and run a hose? That would be awesome. I hate the noise!

Re: flat lap grinder
I bought my 24 lap fron grindglass.com. John is a great guy to work with. He powder coats the disk to prevent rust and hand builds his laps, if you contact him ask if he has a "used" one. He sells the one he uses for a few months at a bit of a discount. I have an 8 inch lap with two disks ...

Re: Stinky wax
Just what I was looking for! For my first lost wax project what is the best wax to buy? i want to burn it out. It will be a fairly small project - I made a flexible mold and used glass powders but it fell in the kiln =producing a flat blossom -I need to add a little dark paint in the whorl of stamen...

I have cleaned a Lot a of copper and I always use baking soda. I make a paste with vinegar and use this on a scrubby pad. I don't know if this will help but I wanted to try;)

I bought my "wire cloth" here: http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/Wire-Cloth-3AKA9?Pid=search I used SS wire and wired the "cloth" to one of the 14 different size rings a wonderful welder made me. I used a 12 in ring. I then flipped it over so the 1 inch walls from the ring kept th...

Re: using cookie cutters
If you're looking for stainless steel cookie cutters there's a lady on eBay who makes them. She also takes special orders if you want a certain shape. They stand up very well in the kiln, I've used the same ones for Christmas last year. She made ornimant shapes for me.

Holy buckets! Last week I got my order for every color in 90 Coe. Great post, I am doing the exact thing you are. Besides all your questions , what's the best way to make samples? On cut glass? In a tile mold? Do you make the mold yourself?
Thanks Seachange!

Re: Where can I find this?
Why not just do a circle and cut in in half? If you want it thicker you could use those SS Rings to dam and then cut?
