cutting glass for mold

Ok so I turned the mold over and cut the bottom layer of glass and proceeded to design and glue a number of pieces on top. Now I am thinking that once I fuse this piece it will expand a little and probably be larger than the 7x7 mold. Do I grind the edges some to make the fused piece smaller? What w...

Tack or full fuse

Another newbie question. I glued my single layer stringers onto a piece of glass. Do I tack fuse or full fuse? I am trying to maintain the shape of the stringers and it is dichoric stringers and I use thin fire paper so I know I can't fuse it upside down. Thank you

Re: how do i do this

I just wanted to make sure everyone knows I was just looking for information on technique with no intention of copying the design. I actually have a frog from a coloring book:). Thanks

how do i do this

The artist used glass and flameworked stringers then fused. Can I use Glassline or glass enamel with A4? Also, Do I cap the bottom layer with clear and paint on top of the clear, will that make it a flat surface? http://www.etsy.com/listing/103199546/dandelion-clocks-lime-green-fused-glass?ref=sr_ga...

Usually I try to keep the thicker part of design towards middle so it leaves a border around edge so i can frame easier And cut all in one piece so no joints Send me your email and I will se...

Re: spreading glass

Update. Did one with clear on bottom and one with just elements on top. The coaster with clear spread but had a smooth finish on top. The one without additional glass did not spread but the glass geometric elements on top did not fully fuse into bottom layer causing the coaster to be bumpy. Next tim...

Re: Any idea how this is done

Love these. Cut out design on top piece. Put a transparent color for bottom layer. Cut out fiber paper where you want the glass to puff out. Place under both layers and fuse. I am attaching puffy glass directions that worked very well for me. Have fun http://www.glass-fusing-made-easy.com/puffy-glas...

I'm making 4x4 coasters, bottom layer black with geometric shapes placed in the middle on top. Do I need to add a clear layer at the bottom to avoid spreading? Thank you

Or do I have to tack fuse the painted resist glass first then full fuse it on to another piece? also, do you have to clear cap th...
