Because it is a commission and she would be willing to pay for custom work?
I try not to turn down jobs that come along unless I have to. :)

curtain rod finials

I have been asked to make some curtain rod finials.
Has anyone here done this before? If so what did you use for the hardware, I haven't been able to find anything on the web but am wondering if I could make something?

Ah, so you use silicon carbide?
I was thinking I had to get diamond.
I think a full range of silicon carbide to start is a good idea, then if I feel I need diamond, I can always upgrade the grits I find I go through most.

Which belt grits?

I have a belt sander on the way and need to order some belt.
Any suggestions on what grits I need to have?
