slump failure help?

Just slumped my first large 17 inch deep BE bowl. The first fuse came out gr8....beautiful red transparent with stringers etc....then I put it into a mold to slump.....bowl shrunk down from original diamenter of 17 in to 14 and got one big bubble in the center. Didnt pop and kinda looks interesting ...

HOLES

The bottom is clear glass without holes........top is red which I so carefully and tediously drilled about 10 holes 1/4" diameter.........want to keep them from closing for light reflecting thru and for polka dotted affect. Thanks for all your input.......could I also just cut same size out of clear...

I have drilled holes in a large red transparent glass...wanting a polka-dotted effect........bottom layer is clear. I know it can never be wha it was. What I had in mind was to just lay all the pieces on the bottom of the shelf and fuse it toone flat piece and then go from there. Question? can I fuse crystal.....not with anything strange with it.....will it ;blow up and ruin my kiln? just fuse the pieces like you...

kids broke a very expensive kosta boda baloon-shaped piece.....now I have a box of gorgeous pieces of rainbow colored crystal..........can i fuse it ? If so, on shelf ? do i need to contain it in some way? :cry:

I mix 1/3 rubbing alcohol, 1/2 water, 1/3 ammonia (no suds)......in a spray plastic bottle.............works gr8

Just got my new kiln and very anxious to get firing sooooo. cleaned bottom of kiln from all dust, applied was as suggested to bottom and prepared the shelf.....smoothing it and then applying kiln....rather than waiting a few days, I heated the kiln to 500...venting every s often...so that I wouldnt ...
