Re: Frit colouring

Hi Jon. The questions about fusing stained glass have been frequent. If you enter "fusing stained glass" in the search box at the upper right of the screen, you may find the information you need. Information about float glass can be obtained the same way. Good luck.

Re: Fractures appeared!

I just looked at your website, Bonnie. Your work is outstanding! As long as you can make the glass work, I wouldn't change a thing.

Re: The screw on running pliers.

When you throw away the screw, just go ahead and discard the breaking pliers and buy Silberschnitt Running Pliers. They are pricey, but very easy to use and they swivel so you can slowly run a long cut not only from the end but along the length. The pliers are aluminum and the contact parts are high...

Re: Tiny Hole Saw Bits for a Dremel?

Not that I like Walmart but the quality is probably equal to many other Chinese items, and the price is right with the size starting at 6mm

Re: Tiny Hole Saw Bits for a Dremel?

That is interesting about Daniel. The last time I talked with him, he said he was no longer selling the bits and referred me to LAU. Guess he changed his mind. Happy drilling, Barry.

Re: Tiny Hole Saw Bits for a Dremel?

Daniel Lopaki is no longer selling diamond bits. I have not had good performance from LAU, at least not the small bits although the price is great. I tried the triple ripple bits in the 1mm size and so far I have drilled about 80 holes with the first bit. These are pricey bits, but the performance o...

Re: Flat Lap

China is interesting. A couple of years ago I ordered some round pendant blanks and got oval ones. Last year I ordered some different metal findings and could only use about half due to permanent tarnishing and poor metal finishing. I just ordered several items which are supposed to ship within six ...

How about this...probably not the strongest attraction, but may be enough with all the surface area of the grinding disk. https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-247596-Magnetic-Primer-30/dp/B003ZW7XL4/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIton44NO07QIVF4-GCh27ggwjEAAYAiAAEgK5_fD_BwE&hvadid=1778070...

Re-worked Pendant

One of the things I like about fused glass is that it is sometimes possible to modify a piece years later. In this case, the attached pendants did not sell in their original configuration, so I enameled them and re-fired. I like them much better now, so maybe they will sell or not..., in any event I...

Re: Reading COE

Hi Jan. When I read your question, I thought this should be easy to find with Google. It was not, because the actual measurement has been lost to the reduced reporting of 90, 96, 82. etc. I finally found the answer in an earlier post on the board: http://warmglass.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=41565 Lo...

Re: Some Enamel Pendants

Hi Dana. I just put the standard glue-on bail on them like the one in this picture, but silver-plated. If I do anything more elaborate, it increases my price too much in the galleries and hurts my sales.

Re: Some More Detailed Photos of the Enamels

Don, these are about 1.25 inches in diameter and are going to be pendants. The way I apply the enamels and the firing give a tremendous amount of detail to small pieces.

Some Enamel Pendants

Just opened the kiln after firing last night and thought I would share a quick photo of some of the enamel cabs. Not the best lighting and not the best focus, but, hey, it's Saturday morning and too much trouble to set-up the photo tent....

Re: bubbles

Bullseye considers the micro bubbles a "feature" of the handmade glass aspect. I think they also consider the "runs" on the top surface the same, but those certainly cause me a lot of problems when trying to match the gradient in dichroic glass.

Re: Concerning firing enamels

Hi Havi. What a pain the virus is, even without being infected! I now understand and appreciate what you are trying to do. For the red ink, I am fairly certain adding frit will not help much, if any. However, if you can leave the red ink open for a while or transfer it to a larger, more open contain...

Re: Concerning firing enamels

Hi Havi. You seem to have several potential problems, the first being that you do not have an accurate known temperature in one of your kilns, the one where you had the best results. You did not specify what enamels you are using either, and the range you fired of about 125 degrees between the firin...
