felt pen for signing fused work

I am wondering if anyone has come across a felt pen that can be permanent after firing. I am looking for an easy way to sign my fused glass. Using a diamond instrument is just too labor intensive.

Re: Freeze and Fuse firing cycle

I thought the first time that maybe I didn't have enough water. I left more water the second time and still had the same problem. I am using plastic molds and some of them are really shallow, some are fairly deep. That didn't seem to matter, they all had the same problem. I will try again and use bo...

Re: Freeze and Fuse firing cycle

My question is a little different. I am trying freeze and fuse, but my problem is is getting it out of the mold. It won't pop out and crumbles. I am wondering if the water is the problem. We have a water softner. Has anyone had a problem like this?

Draping over ceramic

I have been told to use ss for draping, and ceramic for slumping, but I have seen ceramic molds that indicate you can slump over them. I thought the reason for not using ceramic for draping had to do with the difference in cooling rates for ceramic and glass. I have a ceramic mold which is ruffled a...

Re: Plate broke during slumping

Thanks to both of you for explaining everything so well, I guess I thought the bullseye firing schedule was fine and have used it several times. This is a new mold, and maybe it just heated faster than the previous mold which was stoneware. I will go slower next time. The leaf is a real leaf, I used...

Re: Plate broke during slumping

It is obvious to me it did not break in the ramp up because the edges of the break are sharp not rounded.

Plate broke during slumping

My plate broke while slumping. I think I understand why it borke, it went over the edge of the mold. I don't understand why it did as it was the same size as the mold. In the photo you will see how much it ran over. The plate was two layers of tetka with powder frit on a leaf. The fuse was great. Wh...

removing devit

I have slumped a plate and when it was done it has devit. I read a post in the archives that said to use nail polish remover, but that was all it said. Does it really work?
