Casting window glass frit

I have this friend with a problem...really I do have a friend. He is a high school art teacher and is wanting to introduce his students to the world of fusing. Yah him! I have given him supplies on occasion and advice but now it's a bit out of my realm and I'm hoping someone on the bulletin board mi...

Re: 2013 Magnet Exchange Now Underway

Ladies and Gentlemen, I thought being part of the Magless would be fun...I was wrong. It has been fantastic! I drove up to the house and saw 'The Box' on the porch. The groceries almost didn't make it into the house but I showed considerable restraint and did put the milk in the frig before abandoni...

Re: It's Magtober...

Okay it's after noon but not quite happy hour yet -- however, since Volunteering comes natural to those of us in the Volunteer State, I'll be glad to sort and mail. Have plenty of Patron and lemons - no beer.

Re: Schedule taking too long

Thanks for the link to the spreadsheet! I can't wait till tonight to 'test' out my kiln and programs --- after this I might actually start getting some sleep ----- or have time to cut more glass.

Re: Pot Melting

O my - great ideas. The project that i'm working on is to be a disc at the bottom of an aluminum sculpture (no not mine). It will be lit from the bottom so the artist is wanting a more concentration of blue in the middle with the 'rings' of blue outwards but more white/clear towards the outsides. I ...

Wall Mounting

Sometimes I get carried away with a design and get 3/4 of the way through before I realize I haven't thought it out completely (this has never happened to anyone else, right?). On my worktable at the moment are two mermaids -- each approximately 18" tall and 4 1/2" wide. My poor Taurus 3 i...

Re: Pot Melting

Am working on a project for a friend (there's always a friend right?). We need a 17" circular pot melt with most of the color in the middle and rings of color, clear and white going to the outside. I've tried stacking (the color flowed thru the entire piece) and also placing the pieces with the...

Re: Schedule taking too long

Nice spreadsheet. Is it sharable or for sale? =P~ I'm finding that some of my schedules seem to be taking an awfully long time. A friend has the same size kiln (I know --no two kilns are the same but still.....i have the Olympic GF314ETLC) and the same firing schedule takes her 19 hours and takes me...
