Mold Site

Hey Rodney,
The site is Zircar. When you go to the site there is a side bar and at the bottom there is Luminar Products-art glass materials. Click on that. The Mold 6 is what i was using. They have great stuff.

So glad you all are talking about sander/polishers. I was wondering about not only polishing the outside edge but and interior, like a bowl. The CL4W looks like just a sander. did not see a reference to cork belts for it. I have a Mikita belt sander ( like Berts at WGW ) that I use with cork belts, ...

Bert,
What a great piece. Could it be done with just the dry plaster?
I do not have a kiln that big but have been damming up dry plaster and doing smaller pieces, with 2---1/4".

You can cut fiber for me anytime. Great work. What do plan on doing with it after you fuse? Hang? I just wonder if the single layer of gold will pull in when you fuse. Keep us posted I am kooking forward to the finished piece.

The test sink

Okay all, Here is the test sink I did and thank goodness it was just a test. 2-3/8" float fused at 1420 --held 20min. annealed. Came out 11 1/2" dia. by 1" thick. edges did not join totaly. And you can see where in the center there is some air. Slumped 250--1000 450--1200-hold 30 450-...

Thanks All,
I did remember to clean after I took off the suction.
This won't be as deep as I want in the future but it is a practice piece, for future sinks. I will drill a 1 1/2" hole in the bottom when done, with my new tri pod drill.
