I think that you are applying to much.
Might pay to visit colourdeverre's website.
They have a good "how to" video.

Follow their directions on "Priming your mold with ZYP. The mr97 brand has been discontinued, but the ZYP brand is exactly the same product.

Also, you can program the kiln to go afap to about 1200 or so, and then open the door and look at the elements. If one set is dark, then you will know what the problem is and then continue to trouble shoot the problem' Jim That's one of those "how long is a piece of rope" questions, anyway...

As a last resort, you can take a demel and make 3 or more coresponding "chips" on the mold.
I'll bet nobody has a mold like that :>)
