Texture to glass

I got a reply from someone on the other forum index on this and they sugguested soaking longer at the 1400 temperature. So I think I will give that a try tomorrow.

Textures....

When I use frit I use the finest frit powder. I only make thin glass things like leaves. Otherwise I use this as an easy wasy to make one off things . You can slump things easily like this without waiting for a mold to dry. However I am having a problem getting this one delicate texture on this bull...

Yes funny isn't it.

You would think every glass is out there now until you are actually looking for those old english tiny hammered delicate pale colors, or an orange to pink from Germany with just the right wavy in it on the side.

I have been working on this also and here is what I have done. I have pressed the correct texture into the 1" bed of tighly pressed powder. THen I have fired it to 1350 and held it there for 5 minutes. It came out okay, but I wish it were better. I think I will hold it longer next time. I asked...

I am copying the texture of an old hammered sheet glass (peices 5x7)by using diatomaceous earth. It is a dry mold technic. I want to get more of the delicate texture and less of the orginal texture of the sheet I'm starting with. Would you say soak it longer than 5 minutes at 1350 or raise the tempe...
