Pattern Bars help

Hi, We are doing some pattern bars. We have slices about 1"x2" (sort of domino size). If we want to have them all in a row down the center of a platter, do you recommend us to first fuse the sliced pieces into a solid piece and then add the rest of the platter glass around it, or do you te...

Belt Sander or Lap Wheel

Hi, we have a small fused glass business and want to keep expanding our tools for the studio. I was curious, of your thoughts on tools. We have a wet saw and grinder, and ringsaw, but are thinking about getting either a lapwheel sander or a sanding belt sander to do more of the coldworking/finishing...

Small Business - insurance

Hi, I was just curious, for any of you that have a small business selling your glass items, do you carry any special insurance for that? I wasn't sure if you ever felt you had to have something in place in case someone was injured on your piece somehow.

Thanks
Cherie

Re: Fusing little dots

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. We will work to change our length. We had a full shelf with about 30 of these dots all different colors. Our firing schedule had been: Segment Rate Temp Soak (Hold) 1 500 1495 .15 2 AFAP 900 2.00 3 AFAP 100 2.00 Thanks. Cherie

Fusing little dots

Hi, We were trying to make a lot of dots to then apply to some plates. We noticed when we do full fuse of a 3/4"x3/4" square black glass (stacked 3 high) it fuses into a nice round circle. But we noticed if we do identical setup for White or red it seems like they all get jagged edges arou...

Re: Shelf Primer dust

We were wondering if we shouldn't just scrub off and reapply Bullseye shelf primer before each fusing. It just gets to be a lot of work to do it every time though but if we keep having all these pieces show up all powdered and unable to get a clean bottom we probably need to do that. Just curious fo...

Cabinets to hold glass

Hi, does anyone know of any business that might sell cabinetry that we could use to store our glass. We basically have a lot of 1/2 sheets and then 1/4 sheets of glass and we want to put in a cabinet in our studio to house all of this glass. We thought about making it ourselves, but I wondered if an...

Re: Shelf Primer dust

So you recommend just a mist across the shelf, do I then rub it down at all or just let it set?

Re: Attaching findings to pendants

I had tried a little tube of the E6000 but it just seems so stringy I had a harder time applying without getting glue all over everything. Maybe just user error :)

Gryphon Ring Saw accessories?

Hi, we have not been able to locate accessories for the Gryphon ring saw we recently bought. I really wish we had a straight edge to attach so that it would make using the blade for straight cuts much easier? We noticed some of the Taurus 3 items almost look like they would work with Gryphon as well...

Shelf Primer dust

We use Bullseye Shelf Primer on our kiln shelves and fuse all of our pieces on the shelf directly. We've let it go several times before we re-apply the wash. It always seems to have a really fine powder on the shelf all the time. Do you all clean /vacume shelves after each use? We notice sometimes w...

Glass Studio Setup

Oval dish suggestions

Hi, We bought an oval mold from Bullseye and I was wondering about the typical process folks use. Do you make your initial item cut to the shape of the oval first, or do you instead make the item originally in an oblong sort of size and then once fully fused cut it with a saw to shape to the size of...
