I have the Taurus II (got it right before the III made its debut....rats!) and I love it even though it is rather noisy. I use my separating blade quite frequently and the one thing they never tell you is that you have to take the blasted saw apart to install the new blade!!?! The first time ...

Carol, What a timely question. I just pulled a bracelet out of the kiln yesterday with the same problem (actually, I managed to slip it on my wrist and then had to run my arm under cold water to remove the bracelet). I thought of grinding the tips down a bit and then coating them with Back Magic whi...

C & R Loo carries the kaiser Lee fiber board, although they don't actually give it that name in their catalog (just called "fiber board" and states that it's pre-fired and ready to use). Haven't had a chance to try it myself...maybe after the Holiday rush (ha! things NEVER slow down around here! Wha...

Vidrio, If you're interested in the front to back holes. Pacific art glass in LA (1-800-35 Glass) has the very fine drill bits you seek. Also Diamond Drill and Tool (1-800-646-2832). Just be careful to stock up on the smallest ones, though, I broke two last week trying to hurry up the job. Haste doe...

Yo Ruth, In regards to your bolo slider question, I epoxy simple nickel plated ones for the backs of the dichro cab, but glue on sterling silver tips for a fancier presentation (Rio Grande's, of course). Glad you like my website but I'm not satisfied with it's "homemade" appearance. I'm trying to de...

Yep, tried bolos. I suppose you have to hit the right crowd for those. I made several very intricate designs for my last show in dichro with sterling tips and they just didn't hit that magical "sell" button. Ditto on belt buckles. Of course this is a beach-lovers locale, so maybe other areas of the ...

When I was at the Harvest Festival a few weeks back and one enterprising jeweler was selling some corkscrew style wire earrings. He was stopping people in the aisles and offering to wind them onto their earlobes. Needless to say I was appalled at the thought of someone trying the same pair of earrin...

Geri, How about "let's just clean this off with alchohol first", or "Oh dear, let's clean this thing off, you want to protect your ears you know!" Grrrrross! It reminds me of the time I used to work at the old Builders Emporium and one of the customers decided to use the display toilets. I always wo...

Just some possibilities for hanging pendants: -drill a small hole for a jumpring. -drill small holes on opposite corners and attach jumprings and chain. -glue on a pendant bail (lots of sources to be found in the archives!). -grind a channel all around the glass and wire wrap. -glue on a PMC backing...

Thanks Lauren and Dee. Actually, I have studied htmlgoodies.com tutorials when I was tweaking my Ebay listings and yes, I agree it is very helpful and easy to follow. Dreamweaver does seem to be highly thought of in the website building catagory. I'll have to try out a demo version if its available....

What is your favorite webpage building program?

Hey glass guardians out there! I've followed the discussion on finding a host for a website, now the obvious question: what is your favorite program for designing your own webpage and why? I've built my own site using Microsoft Home Publisher, but would like to do oh, so much more (and hopefully ful...

I can't think of a real witty punchline for a set up like that! However, as a glass jewelry artist, I suscribe to a wide range of publications. Crafts Report of course is an absolute must for any serious selling artist. I also receive Bead and Button to keep up on all the upcoming bead shows. finall...

I'm definitely trying to keep this a fine art show and NOT a craft fair with crocheted potholders (no offense to you potholder lovers out there!). Best day for a show?

Greetings fellows in glass, I have a question for you experienced show people in regards to the best day and time of the week for a small group or private show. I'm organizing an event to showcase/sell my work as well as the work of a few artist friends. The event is planned for the week before Than...

Thanks, Kitty. I did know that. Does it adhere well enough to produce clean, crisp lines once acid etched? I've done the sticker thing, but I really prefer to use my original ideas rather than Michael's sticker aisle!
