Re: Building a glass storage cabinet

I just use a crate for the big glass, but I found these, and they work really well for glass that's about 12 - 13 inches. I bought a bunch of them and have them standing on end so I can slide the glass in and out. http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/white-5-shelf-storage-cube-776054/ Barb

Re: Turbo Top

I don't know anything about the turbo top, but I would hesitate to go up that fast for fear of breaking the pot containing the glass.

Re: Jewelry -stick and smooth, not melt

Good luck on the sawing when I didn't see a tack fusing annealing schedule in there. :-k I agree with Kevin -- Take a look at Spectrum's suggested firing schedules and adjust your annealing holds and ramps to match the appropriate schedule for whatever thickness of glass you have. http://system96.c...

What a great idea! I never would have thought of this.

Re: annealing 96 question

I'd go up at 50 dph (or slower) to 1000 degrees, then come back down through the recommended annealing schedule... Good Luck!

Re: annealing 96 question

Here are the suggested firing and annealing recommendations from System 96:

I would follow the 1 inch recommendation since you are firing on the sand bed.

Re: Current info on ring saws

I use the Taurus 3 - it works fine for 3mm glass. I've also cut thicker (up to 3 layers) - it's very hard on the blade, but it will do it.

Re: opal sticking to kilnwash - can I use plaster/silica pla

I soak them in vinegar overnight. The kiln wash comes right off and then rinse them with water. It works like a charm.

I really like this too. I like how the combing pulls together the different elements in the piece. Very nice!

When I click on "view active posts", the only posts that I see active are in the Buy/Sell and the Classes/Events folders. Is anyone else having the same problem?
