Re: S/Steel tube ,patten bar

Thank you so much for posting this! For a larger pipe that's going to have about 3.25 inches of glass in it- how long should I hold it at the top temp?

Really appreciate your post!

Re: Making a Vitrigraph Kiln

Huh. I didn't even think about that. Anybody want to buy a jewelry kiln? Try posting this is the "buy and sell" board here. make sure you list the model. price and age of kiln. Your location would be helpful too. I bought a paragon calandra along with 18''X18"X6' metal shelves for my...

white microcrystalline wax

I have found prices for this and wonder what the difference is between the different waxes . Some sites sell it fairly pricy and some sell slightly different wax, fairly cheap.. which wax is the best to buy? I want to buy it to mold and do the lost wax technique. What type wax do you buy? A link wou...

Les, You have been nothing but kind and helpful on this board. I too, almost left after a man was rude to me. It's easy to be crass and rude behind a screen. You cannot control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them. Love your work and really enjoy the photos...

Re: shank for glass buttons: metal, glass or plastic?

My mother , and her dutch sisters are all world class knitters and even spin their wool. I bought tiny copper shanks and made 1/2 inch etched cabs. They could not use any of these as they were too heavy. I think you need to know what the buttons are for before making them. I ended up using 1 layer a...

Re: Silk screen, powders.... enamels etc.

Bullseye has at least 3 videos in their online teaching system about silkscreen. i believe its 35.00 a year. They add new videos each month and you're able to view all the older ones. They posted a powder screening video 2 months ago. You can also ask questions about said videos via their blog. Grea...

Re: MK -100 saw water source

Thank you all for the replies, nasty flu got me. Charlie I suspect much of it from our golden retriever who is constantly by my side AND that bucket. They shed like mad. Plus our 17 year old rescue Persian and very deaf, he'd sit in the tray for the saw if I let him. Two VERY hairy creatures who cam...

Re: MK -100 saw water source

Hi Charlie! Nice to meet you "face to face" on linkin , bits of crushed glass for the most part. I'm just wondering if there is a better way to keep everything out. I keep those large paint buckets (5 gal?) full of water and have the pump in there. I was kinda wondering if people swapped o...

MK -100 saw water source

image.jpg I've been cutting a lot of pattern bars and started having a problem with the spray attachment getting plugged up. I ALWAYS use a large bucket to put the water pump with fresh water instead of recycling it. I unclogged it today and cut about 20 slices of a 5x2.5 pattern bar and it happene...
