I was told that white out has some health warnings, that it might do something with the brain or nerves. Anyone know about this? We used white out and had great results on the surface of glass and even on the bottom. Since the warning of hazards with the use I stopped using it. Health/hazard warnin...

It's a good idea to use a mold release if you have undercuts to consider.... we use fabric softener.... I think Downy brand...which brand makes a difference. As mentioned, don't use anything with a petroleum base.... I still remember that mold years ago where Michael used Vaseline. Oh, my..... out o...

Hi Bev, Try fire polishing without an overspray...I've noticed that it tends to trap that scummy look. Patty Too late on this piece since the overspray is already applied, once it's there, it's there. Sandblasting seems the only logical solution here. As to the red glass, I'm wondering if you got a...

I had quite a trial finding zinc oxide locally when I was experimenting with silverpoint. A pharmacy finally found a jar in their basement! Sheesh. I haven't tried the Liquid Paper, but really thought I was onto something when I accidently fused some white and gold paint pen and it fused beautifully...

I was hit up by them two years ago and after nosing around, was told (off the cuff) that it was a great place for wealthy people to buy glass cheap from famous artists. LOL. I took that as a compliment.... and didn't send anything. (As an aside, I notice they don't solicit the same artists from year...

The tutorials here are all i've found with any detail and substance. On books I go to the local library and check them out. That way I get a test drive before I buy. I'd be interested in the silversmithing tutorials you mentioned. If you don't mind post them here or email them to me. Thanks, BobB L...

Re: LOL, I'm still alive!
Hi all, and thank you Jackie for the kind words. I am still lurking, but I've been soooo busy lately. I have had 9 funerals in the past 4 weeks, I now have the flu and am down and out, and just everything else, Lent, services, I had a new assistant start, etc. etc. I even found some time for glass!...

I think there's a thread on this in the archives... I can't remember if we came to any conclusions about doing it or if anyone since has given it a try. I remember thinking I should give it a try at the studio just to test the bang factor... but, didn't. One of those roundtuits, you know. I think yo...

What a great story, Ron. It rang a chime with me for a couple of reasons. When I was a kid, I lived for a very short time near Aberdeen and Gray's Harbor, WA.... and because I've had a short subscription to assorted rural papers in the recent few years in areas we considered as a home. Reading local...
