Unless you have something in writing, there's not much you can do. I'd give the money back and move on.

Re: High Temp Powder Coating

The usual way to get small powder coating jobs done is to find a powder coater and ask the guys in the back to put the pieces through on the end of a run and you gift them something they would value in return for the favor. Of course done that way the headers might come out Bright Pink if that was ...

Re: High Temp Powder Coating

From online: Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The coat...

Re: Where is the iridescent 96?

I was at Spectrum years ago and watched them iridized glass with a spray arm going back and forth as the glass came out of the rollers. I think Oceanside has bitten off more than they can chew. some of the clears are terrible. Spectrum would iridize their stained glass, which burns off in the kiln....

Re: Where is the iridescent 96?

I believe Uroboros did the coatings on Spectrum's irid. I suspect it's not yet a priority for Oceanside. I was at Spectrum years ago and watched them iridized glass with a spray arm going back and forth as the glass came out of the rollers. I think Oceanside has bitten off more than they can chew. ...

Re: Should I switch to System 96?

1) First of all, while this is all true about Bullseye, I found their representatives to be exceedingly arrogant, rude and obnoxious. A long time ago I decided to make art with 96 rather than put up with unprofessional behavior. Considering the posts for incompatibility/ devitrification/ etc. I hav...

I think the Hakko is probably the best for a small space. I've heard some folks use a stove hood and vent outside with ducting.

Re: Ventilation

Hey Marty - been a while! The main inhalation issue with stained glass is possible lead fume exposure. I've not looked at this for a long time. As I recall, there is not enough heat to create actual lead fume as the smoke created during soldering is from the flux and that is an acid gas. Most lead ...

Wissmach is coming out with new colors and it will be a while before any Spectrum is being produced although it appears most distributors have a fair amount on hand.
