looking for setup using pvc pipe
I don't remember where it was that someone described a photo setup using 1/2 inch pvc pipe and plastic side curtains for shooting small projects. If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Jim

i always did good surface prep, and even did sanding to resolve the problem with the clip earrings glue failures. I have had the exact problem, and have since swithced to Aleen's Glass and Bead slick surfaces glue, and haven't had a return yet, However that has only been about 8 months, so we will ...

Re: fusing frit for texture
I am fusing small pieces of glass with frit, and I just want to tack on the frit-so it still has it's texture. I also want to keep the slump shape of the glass which is bent, so I am thinking do the normal fuse and slump and then do a short third firing this time with the frit added...how high do y...

Re: spiked edges, ouch!!
Almost all of my fused pieces have little spikes around the perimeter of the glass when I take it out of the kiln. I file them down, but it doesn't have that nice rolled edge that I want. I usually fuse at 400 to 1450, and hold for 10 min. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong. Thanks, Vickie Someth...

Check out the grinders at Kingsley-North http://www.kingsleynorth.com/grindingunits.html This is the type of unit you are looking for. They have multiple grit wheels right up to a polish so you start on one side of the machine and work your way to the polish end. These are a little expensive but yo...

How to tell a gallery that they have some junk?
I just got back from a gallery auction that has some of my work in it. While I was there, I saw some "work" that was just plain but ugly. These pieces were bases for ball point pens and were about 6 to 8 inches in diameter. they were made of lots of pieces of glass that were fused into a b...

Lani, Always one to rise to a technical challenge, I just went down to my studio with my trusty micrometer and measured 33 different pieces of glass... all System 96. I didn't select them for anything other than variety. I wanted to make sure that I had representative pieces from as many different r...

New needling problem (Solved)
I just ran into an interesting situation. All of a sudden I started to have needling problems when fusing BE glass at 1480 F. for 10 min. I lowered the hold time to 7 min and then the joints between the pieces of glass on the top didn't completely run together. (There was a slight indent between the...
