Charlie, I like that very much. Could you please explain further about cutting the pieces around it? Am I seeing 4 pieces? And do you have one full base? Or need to dam it? I've been wanting to do something with one of my pot melts if I can only decide which COE it may have been.

Print Gocco question

Print Gocco has directions that say to use a PPC or plain paper copier to make screens. What it really wants is carbon based ink. Does anyone know off-hand if an ink-jet (Hewlett-Packard) has carbon ink? I was looking to do some small screen printing on glass as well as making my own decals with gla...

Liam, when you say beads, do you mean torchwork or fused?

I saw a lot of Mt. St. Helen's glass after the eruption. They have the date right anyway. May 18, 1980 for the first one. I think it blew again after that. I was in the Spokane area at the time. We had been listening to albums all day when the sky got very dark. It looked like a big mother of a stor...

My vote is for dissolving, crystalizing and weird.

They have been dumped in a tumble-vibe to try and unweirdify them. :)

This may seem kind of off track, or not. I'm not sure what I have here. I put some small pot melts in a bowl of Lime-Away to get some persistant kiln wash off the backs. The tops were nice and smooth. I forgot about them for 3 days, and they sat in the Lime-Away all that time. When I pulled them out...

Is a 1/16" tripple ripple bit large enough to create a jump ring hole through a three layer dichroic glass pendant If not whar size bit should be used Bob, that sounds plenty big. I've got the 2.1mm, and if that's a close conversion :?: I'm bad at that stuff. Anyway, the only thing might be th...

Deb, was the tink, tink, tink possibly from the glass left in the pot? Mine sometimes do that for hours after everything is taken out from a room temperature  kiln. Sorry, I used to be a Peeping Tomasina too. I sometimes think it's too bad. The dregs of the pot more often than not look much be...

Paul, I've looked at this piece several times since you posted it. You're right it's wonderful to look at. The colors in the background and the shapes made by where the colors aren't are super. The hand keeps doing different things. That may sound strange, but hopefully not. Sometimes it says 'Hey!'...

I think it's ridiculous that Gecko is introducing a third COE to the fusing world. It's not like BE, Uroboros or Spectrum has an exhaustive inventory of colors -- why not contribute to the world by developing new colors for an existing line?? Cheryl, what about 104COE and whatever COE float is? Tha...

This is a translation site. When I put in the Italian to English I got table of the star. Turned around to star chart it came out to exactly what you wrote. I only know 2 Italian phrases, and they are the kind that can get a person in big trouble.

Steve, I don't know what they were using. Here at home I have a liquid chemical dip called Instant-Dip Sterling Polish. I think I got it at the grocery store. It gets the tarnish off and I think I've had the same bottle for 5 years. Dip, rinse and dry. You might also try a jewelers rouge cloth. I th...

Steve, why can't you just dip them? I was at a market today buying sterling chain, and the girl behind the counter dipped it, and then blasted it with a steam machine. It was very clean and shiny.

Ceramaguard strips make great damns and, as best as I can tell, last just about forever if you treat them gently. You can cut it square with a table saw -- just don't do it inside -- it is inconievable dusty. They do require kiln furniture/bricks for support. - Paul Paul, do you use kilnwash on the...

I have only used "laser" decal paper. I think ink-jet decal paper might work, but that they have different sueface finishes. It is possible, however, the the ink-jet paper might melt in the fuser of the printer or copy machine. Both types pf paper cost about the same. If you have ink-jet ...
