gallery insurance question

Hey, does anybody out there deal with a gallery on consignment who does not insure the artists work while in the gallery? If so, do you self insure, and if so where and what type. If the gallery does not, do you try to up the percentage in your favor to cover the insurance, fly without, or walk away...

Thanks Barbara. I could have used more heat. I went in at 1200 armed with gloves, some graphite tongs, and a thin steel piece. Mighty hot!

Thanks. Kitty The colors of the dichro suggested to me the colors of the rose quartz, and amethyst and crystals. They are inside the piece in the bottom, and spill out through the side.

Wow! A lot happened while I was on the road. Thanks for all the advice and support. I did not mean to open the proverbial can of worms. But I have to say, it is interesting! A little bantering gets the juices flowing. I have talked to the gallery, (actually Marlene did) and she stated the wholesale ...

wholesale

very happy to have my first wholesale order. now the question. who pays shipping,or do you make the wholesale price high enough to cover it? I delivered the first order as I was going to be nearby, but it is too far for future orders,of which they are already requesting more. thanks

I agree there is not a problem as long as you don't undercut. The galleries where I am do not have a problem with it, and I list them on the site.

Yeah I agree. Having only met the manager, and not the owner, I don't know how he expects me to go on a handshake. I want to find out who he deals with in the world with no contract. Let's see, I need a house, car, lap grinder, all without contracts!

Harbor freight also sells diamond coring bits in small sizes. I have used the 1/2" and the 1". I use my bench drill press. You have to lubricate. I bought a suction ring at cr laurence, and fill with water. Go easy and no problem. I have cut up to 1 3/8" holes.

Yeah, my thoughts were to hit the bricks. Just could not believe it. A contract just lets everyone know whats expected. Oh well, on to the next one.

Thanks for the input.

gallery venting!!

I am just finishing an exhibit in Mammoth Lakes Ca, and at the reception another gallery in town showed up. They were very interested in the work, and said they were opening a new second gallery in town. We talked back and forth for two weeks, agreed on terms, then drew up an agreement. They emailed...

If you are using the non system 96 glass it is hit and miss. Some of the blacks devit, some don't. You can sandblast the devit off, super spray and refire. I fuse spectrum at 1450 for 10-20 minutes.

collaboration?

Question. If you are mixing media and techniques, how do you credit? I have two scenarios. One in which I pay an artist to assist, say in metal working for a sculpture, or a glass blower for a roll up. In this, are they just subs, and once paid it is my piece, my signature and credit? Second if you ...
