MartyintheUSA(andnotparticularlyproudofitrightnow) It's my bicycle Marty, aka treader. http://blancaneaux.users.btopenworld.com/Mi_bike.gif sometimes we have to push it! Still pondering. snip>>>>> The tech notes from BE seem to be more about uneven temps throughout your kiln. <<<<<snap Yes you are right Carla. Sorry, I should have explained better to say that the critical thing is, to record the temperature the glass starts to move. Start with one kiln and record y...

Even if you do the cone thing you will end up with two sets of results; one set for each kiln, right? So if you set your temperature controlling device (I'm not familiar with how a pyrometer works) until you acheive the required result for each kiln, just use those values every time for each kiln. I...

Please can you suggest a UK supplier stocking the new thinfire, Joanna? I reverted to BE shelf primer but it takes time to prepare a shelf. I prefer using thinfire because I can mark out the design on the thinfire and lay out the pre-cut elements accurately, then cap with the sheet of clear. Thanks ...

I like it for anything smaller than 100mm square, use kiln posts to secure the edges so's it doesn't do it's curl-over thing. Anything bigger and the thinfire shrinks and splits; leaving the underside smooth where it was on the thinfire and a step to where it rested on the (kiln-washed) shelf. I've ...

I frequently wash my blender with soap and warm water. I take it no one else has encountered this so perhaps ambient dust, but it seems to happen after several smooth dust free blending strokes, then dust seems to appear. I have to tell you I feel laughed at here. Ha Ha. Not at all Joseph, nobody i...

You might want to consider mass mailings. Find an image that you are happy with, have it transfered to a post card with some basic contact and price info, and send them to galeries you might be intrested in. It's the postal equivelent to cold calling with one major difference, it allows for a visua...

I figure the best way to shift it is let someone who is set up do the shifting and marketing. The task of a gallery is to sell the work of artists. Some of them takes 50% commission but as long as I make what I want that's okay with me. 50% of my work comes from interest generated from my website. 2...
